i found this website quite good, find out who is your surgeon and see if they have been reviewed.

You'd have to ask the surgeons about how common Ian. I was told that i should never need it doing again (this was in Oct 05), but then by last summer I noticed a deterioration.

When I went back for re-testing fully expecting to have to have it done that day, he sent me away with eye drops to try to restore 20;20 first.

When i went back 3 weeks ago I asked how much it would be and the receptionist wasn't specific, but just said that it would be less than half price. I think there is a sliding scale based on how long ago you were originally treated. when it came to paying, I was pleasantly surprised when it was much more than half price.

  • Hi,
I have just booked a consultation at Optimax in London for the beginning of May. I have been saving my tesco vouchers in order to use them for the surgery however I have only just discovered the 'recommend a friend' scheme on these forums (and ebay).

Firstly, does anyone know if I can still get the referral discount if someone is to kindly pass on their details? (even though I have booked the consultation already!)

...and secondly can the discount be used with the tesco vouchers?

If anyone wants to be my Optimax friend, I have vouchers for £500 off lasik in both eyes. Just drop me a line!

I'm due to go for surgery on Wednesday - I'm really excited but a bit nervous, but everyone else I know who's had it done says it is the best thing they ever did, so I've decided to bite the bullet. I'm really looking forward to not wearing specs every day - I'll probably be pushing my glasses up my nose for weeks afterwards!

Hi Rachelina - I would be very grateful for the vouchers if you still have them available as my son is pursuing treatment at the moment with Optimax. He had his test on Wednesday this week and found it more expensive than he thought so £500 would be wonderful to allow him to have the treatment at the reduced cost.

How was your experience with the treatment?

I am hoping to get my eyes lasered very soon but have not yet decided which supplier to go to. If anyone out there has any money saving vouchers and referrals based on friendship, please let me know.

    Hi Rachelina

If the vouchers are still valid I would love to be your Optimax friend for the vouchers as it will be my birthday gift to have my eyes lasered.
Can you also tell me how it all went and which clinic you used?
    Regards R
  • Hi Rachelina,

Do you have any of these vouchers remaining? I would love them if you do!

Please let us know how you got on with the surgery, too.

    Thanks!
