hello
i got my consultation at Bristol Optimax in a few weeks
Has anyone had surgery done here with Dr Khurshid?
i cant seem to find ANY reviews on the internet
many thanks0 -
Hi Nic,
I had my initial consultation today and was encouraged by ther chap running the clinic to get a 'friend' to recommend me if I want to go ahead. I think I will go ahead with the surgery so would be very greatful if a previous customer would 'befriend' me. And of course there is £50 for the friend from Optimax.0 -
Hi there
I need glasses for long distance (driving) but not reading. Would surgery apply to my situation. the posts seem to be mainly for reading ?
Thanksxxxdxxx

Yes ideal for long distance (driving) that is what I had done and it also improved my reading so that I now only need reading glasses in very poor light.
Go for a free consultation if you are interested I have a voucher that gives you £50 off if you decide to have surgery just drop me a email. This offer is open to anyone else who is interested again just drop me an email through the forum.0 -

If you've not already found a 'friend' for the discount, i'll happily recommend you so you get the discount. I've not looked at the Optimax bumf they gave me yet so I don't know how it works. I did spot a leaflet about it though along with all my eye drops etc.
obviously just had mine done - well 1 eye anyway. I have monovision and had epi-lasek - didn't fancy having my eye cut as am a woos at the best of times!Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -

I used to wear glasses for long distance vision - driving, watching tv etc. I was therefore shortsighted, I believe that it is long sighted that they can't really treat which is why people need glasses for reading.
That's why I opted for monovision after much research. my left eye is slightly shortsighted and does my close vision and i've had my right eye fully corrected and does the long distance vision. I've been told that this way i wont ever need glasses for close work which i would have if they had fully corrected both eyes.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. HI, we think we have enough tesco deals vouchers to cover the laser eye surgery for my OH. I was wondering if there was any 'friends'out there that wouldnt mind recommending him?
Thanks

I am surprised that they have told you that you will never need glasses for close work. The need for reading in glasses tends to be age related from 40+ when the eye loses its flexibilty and to my knowledge non of the laser clinics will guarantee that they can prevent this as it is a natural process that they can't stop. Having said this they will now do surgery to compensate when you get older and your eyes have settled down which is normally mid-late 50's. But even then they will not guarantee you will not need reading glasses at all for the rest of your life.0 -

You are quite correct in what you say lowbrim, and i am a teeny bit over 50. I was 48 when the procedure was first done. But because I have monovision, the undertreated eye does my close work which is why I wont need reading glasses. the recently done eye will go back to 20/20 soon and will do the long distance stuff and the brain compensates so you don't (always) feel lopsided.
To my knowledge, they don't ever use the word guarantee in any laser clinic?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
