My diet bribe pot is for every day I stick to my diet and exercise plan properly I put £1 in a pot. Every 4 weeks I will treat myself to something with whatever is in there. I've been doing it for just 7 days and have stuck to it for 6 days so £6 in the pot so far. Saw this idea on the WeightWatchers website. There's nothing like a money bribe to keep me motivated!
Brilliant idea - I will use this!
JxI could give up chocolate, but I'm no quitter!Shoe love is true loveDebt-free 21/12/09 and determined to stay that way - still DF 09/10/170 -
Hi Jassa - glad you like the idea! I forgot about the other bit where for every week you lose weight you get a £2 bonus. Not been doing too well with mine at the moment as I only have £13 out of a possible £24, however, have actually lost 3lbs since I started doing it so not complaining!
I'm also shocked like tirlittan about the 81 pairs of shoes! I thought I was bad!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I'm a bit of a lurker on this thread, only saw it when you're halfway through, but like the idea. Might do something similar after new year unless you lovely peeps start another one for next year?!
:rolleyes::D
DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
I lost track a bit in the middle of how I was doing on some of these but my list was:-
1. Learn to get up earlier so I can stop taking taxis to work - I've got a lot better at this, had a bit of a wobble recently but mostly it's improved
2. Make packed lunch at least 3 times a week - Have done this at least 3 times every week, sometimes 4 or 5 times a week
3. Pay back the money I owe (approx £250 to my bf, approx £90 to the househould account) - paid in full
4. Finish decorating at least one room of the flat (I seem to have started every room but finished none of them) - decorated the bedroom and have done half of the hallway, may finish that off this sunday
5. Sort out and give/throw away all the stuff I don't use from my kitchen - I've expanded this target to the whole house because on reflection there wasn't much I could get rid of in the kitchen
6. Lose at least 1 stone or a dress size - done badly with this. Still roughly the same weight as I was when I started. I did start exercising last week though.
7. Sort out xmas presents online in advance rather than rushing round the shops the weekend before xmas - I have a rough list but not done anything yet
8. Save something towards a holiday next year (would like to have £500 by xmas) - 0
9. Put SOMETHING into my savings account for a house deposit. Saving has gone very badly these past few months. Saved £100. Need to do better!
I'm pretty busy between now and xmas so I don't know how much I'll get done on sorting out/decorating but I should be able to keep up with the rest.0 -

12 weeks to change my life?
That's the kind of challenge that I like!Since DFW-ing I feel a bit aimless unless I've got a plan on the go and this fab thread has really inspired me.
Is it all right If I tag along even though I am late on parade as usual?:D
Here's the list:
Institute date night with Hubby – either in or out. (Twice a month to begin with would be a start.)
Accept every social invitation that comes my/our way! We've got a bit too attached to our sofa whilst debt busting!
Have “me time” once a week for pampering and maintenance, Colour or deep condition my hair, give myself a manicure / pedicure, a facial, or just lie in a hot bath for a bit then smother myself in body lotion and go to bed early!
Comb the cat at least once a week. It makes him feel loved, and it means less hair to hoover up and fewer hairball related projectile vomiting incidents!
Have an early night / lie in once a week (preferably both!)
Read at least one book from the library a week.
Power walk for 1 hour 3 days a week. (free exercise wooooo!)
Use the Wii for 30 minutes per day, 3 days a week and get my blummen money's worth out of it!
No crisps or chocolate or junk food in general. (We’ve been getting into bad habits!)
EBay every day
MSE every day
Save up £1000
Write and send Crimbo cards by Dec 1st
Buy and wrap Crimbo pressies by Dec 8th
Achieving those last two will be nothing short of miraculous!
Love Jacks xxx
PS Blimey. I'd better get my exercise gear out ready for the morning - anybody know what the weather's going to be like tomorrow?:D

 Right then - slight hiccup!:D:o
I had planned to fall out of bed into my trackies and hopefully do at least two laps of the park before actually regaining full consciousness but as hubby rather sensibly points out - it's dark! (and it's peeing down with rain - but I can live with that. I'll think of it as a sort of freezing cold pre- shower that will make me really appreciate the hot water later!)
So instead, I'll walk after work and do houseworky stuff now. So - I've stripped our bed and flung the sheets in the washer, hung up the load I set going at bedtime, and I have a huuuuuge pile of dry laundry to take upstairs and put away as soon as the kids are up and I can start banging and crashing drawers and cupboard doors. There are four more loads to get done today.
My eBay parcels are all done ready to go and I'm just waiting for the day to catch up with me now as I can't go to work or to the Post Office yet.
I've dug all the Crimbo cards out from under the bed and I'm pretty sure there are enough left so that I don't have to buy any, so I just have to check with Mum and MIL to see if there have been any address / partner changes , buy stamps and get scribbling!
I'm going to see if I can get one thing listed on eBay while I eat brekkie cos if I have to go shopping with DD and walk after work it's going to be 7 before we start dinner...
Blimey - I'm knackered already!:D :j

Was on holiday last week so that was another £100 on the good stuff fund!
Progress looks a bit like this:
1. Pay £500 off debt - £271
2. £500 save/ spent on good stuff - £302
3. Running plan - been doing OK, more or less stuck to plan!
4. Christmas pressies are almost done - should be finished by middle of next week :jDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
