The 12 week Debt-Life *Achieve something* Plan - WEEK 7
Comments
-
Plan for the week:
* [STRIKE]Draw up SOA, tackle overspend, reduce outgoings[/STRIKE] Done -still have an overspend but it is under £50 a month, so can be handled by careful shopping and reducing money spent on entertainment
* [STRIKE]Finish the bleeding painting...seriously, someone kick me if I don't![/STRIKE] Done!!! :j
* No take-aways Um...oops....
* [STRIKE]No vists to the supermarket (internet shopping arrives tomorrow - strictly no 'nipping in' for something 'essential'.)[/STRIKE] Done! Going to try to do this one again this week too.
* Gym once, run once Er, nope. But this was purely because of a stomach bug that made me throw up on the only free days I had.
* Buy 2 Xmas presents Bought one.
Some positives this week but really need to start getting motivated on the exercise front. I think I've lost a little bit of weight, but feel in need of a really good workout, or a long run. I will come back to my overall achievements so far when I have had chance to go back and find my post!
Week 8 plan:
* Run once (with Mr Sunday, on Saturday) plus one other exercise session (and despite Mr Sunday staying at my house on Friday night, it wont be THAT!! :rotfl:)
* Build bedroom furniture and move back in
* No visits to the supermarket
* Buy Christmas presents for sisters
* Enjoy time spent with kids and friends, stop stressing about being lonely
Well done everyone, keep going. :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Try to be less stressed.

Wow, found the thread buried all the way back on page seven...don't think I've ever been that far back before!
Haven't updated for a couple of weeks but I've made some progress so thought it was time...
Stick to my budget and pay off £700/month on my debts
Done so far, managed to pay £692 last month and should be getting some refunds from council tax and scottish power to manage November. Have set myself a target of paying off my virgin card by 31st January so I need to stick to this to make it.
Do some sort of exercise everyday
Okay haven't managed this so much, but with good reason (see below). Going to write a fitness plan this week and get started ASAP. Think I am going to start running again with a guy at work - he is up to 4.5 miles so I need to get a shift on if I'm going to get back there!
Cook as many meals as possible therefore reducing my grocery spends
Managing well, we've done a big shop last weekend - spent £50 each (the cupboards were bare) and it should last us pretty much till Christmas.
Go for a monthly horse riding lesson as a treat only if I save the money elsewhere to do it
Have bought a block of lessons by saving the money on food so managing to go every week.
Try and find some voluntary work to get involved in my local area
Not yet
Spend less time on the internet and more time being productive
A bit
Try and catch up with one friend a week
Ish
Get my flat bathroom sorted out ASAP and get the flat rented out
This is the biggie, it is done!! The tenants moved in on Monday! Had a couple of teething problems but everything seems to be okay so far. Most importantly, the money is in the bank too :j
Spend more time with my grandma (she's 94 and housebound and could do with the company)
Been trying hard with this - taken her out for lunch and been around for coffee a few times. She seems to appreciate it.
Try and get a head start on Christmas shopping
No - don't think I'll be able to afford to start till Decmebr anyway. Had to spend all my piggybanked money on the flat. I managed not to use my credit card though!
Start a DFW diary on here to keep myself on track
Yep, and updating pretty much daily.
So for the next 4 weeks, I want to keep my focus on my exercise, throwing as much money at the debt as possible and trying to think about the voluntary work. The good news is, now that I don't have to spend my evenings decorating, I will have a bit more time to do these things.

Still haven't phoned uni
Lost the 7 pounds but have put 3 back on....must get that off asap!
Bought nearly all Christmas presents with ebay profits
Have taken DD swimming 4 out of 7 weeks
Allotment is needing less work...well thats what I tell myself but must get it organised before the spring
Sod the half marathon, happy doing what I am doing at the moment!
Paid off 1 debt and going to put £500 towards the other 2 to bring it down a bit!

1) order wood for raised beds for allotment and install
2) Make £200 for remainder of Christmas bits

Hi :j
Haven't posted as I lost the thread (subscribed now) but I kept count:
1 Drink 8 glasses of water a day 35/55 (not bad)
2 Have 4 no-alcohol days per week 20/44 (could do better)
3 Learn how to use e-bay and sell some unwanted items Yes (got rid of some shoes but daughter had to help - not confident on my own yet)
4 Join 'flylady' thread and keep on top of the housework (lurked for a few weeks) Yes and have got 5 out of 5 stars for the last four weeks
5 De-clutter spare room (can only open the door - can't actually get in there!) Yes and using the room everyday for study/work/exercise
6 Buy no new clothes (see 5 - that's part of the problem in there) 0/0 (I admitted to 81 pairs of shoes on Flylady so have not dared to buy stuff)
7 Make do and mend - do one sewing task a day, even if it's sewing on a button! 10/55 (ashamed)
8 One walk a day for 5 days a week (or use x-trainer) 50/55 (this was easy as live by sea and walked a couple of times a day sometimes)
9 Organise paperwork Part (got stuff sorted into folders but needs putting in order properly)
10 Complete arm exercises 5 days a week - banish the bingo wings! 35/55
11 Complete tummy exercises 5 days a week - banish the wobbles! 35/55
12 Christmas pressies/cards sorted by 1st December - find last year's leftover bits to use up Part - lists written, cards found, some pressies bought and delivering 3 lots of pressies this weekend - less clutter in flat)
So, not doing too bad. Flylady has been a big help in organising what I do. Hope everyone else is doing OK.
Jx
