How to find out A level results and if she is attendeding University !!

My husband has an 18 year old daughter from his first marriage. She was not happy he split with his ex and has as little contact as she can with him, only contacting him if she wants money.
He will be paying maintenance, pocket money and her mobile phone for another 4 years. Until she ends education.
She sat her A levels this year, for some reason her results were not in the paper, despite his repeated requests to know how she gets on she just ignores him and will not tell him. He is now concerned she did not sit them. He rang the college but they said due to data protection and she is 18 they cannot tell him how she got on or if she did sit them. They said students can request for the details not to go into the paper.
Is there anyway he can find out, his ex will not talk to him !!!
Also she should of now started university any tips for finding out if she is going, he is happy to pay her maintenance etc...for her education, however if she is not going or stops going he wants to know.
Thanks for any help

If she hasn't got the gratitude to even keep him updated, I would simply write to her a nice letter asking her to confirm her plans or her payments will stop. Maybe not as harshly as that. Maybe just state that you need to know her plans so that you can continue to make appropriate payments.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

He has a consent order in place to agree he will pay that money. So as it is a legal thing as far as she is concerned the money is her 'right'.0

She can't expect to keep receiving the financial benefits which go with remainingin education, without confirming that this is actually what she's doing!
Why on earth is he paying her phone and pocket money (maintenance is a different thing) when she behaves like this? What maintenance is he going to pay when she leaves home to go to university; will it be in addition to the normal student funding?0 -
No she is staying living with her mum and going to uni each day.
The reason he pays her phone and pocket money is that it is in the finacial consent order, that was done at the time of divorce.0 -
I'd google her name and see if I can find her in facebook, myspace etc. If she's at Uni it'll be in there.0

Thanks for the link will look at it now.
Sadly his ex is quite a controlling person and will not talk to him / keep him informed of the situation. She is happy to take the money though !!0 -

It may be convienant for her not to talk to him !!! ?
My daughter is at uni now and is 18...her father is now paying her the money that he paid me which i think is only fair as she wont be living hereResolve not to be poor, Whatever you have , Spend less.0 -
I agree with whitewing! Not that it's about gratitude as such, but that you have a right to be informed.
If his ex is controlling then now if the time to turn the tables!
The agreement, I assume, is he would continue to pay this money until such a time as she leaves full time education? Am I right?
If that is the case, then I would send a letter to them saying he no longer needs to support her if she has left full time education, and therefore, in accordance with the agreement (quote the relevent bits), he will be stopping the payments on such and such a date if she cannot supply evidence.
He can say he will let the phone contract run its course if he likes.
Then put the money to one side, so he can backdate it if necessary.
By the sound of it, they will soon be in touch if she is indeed at university! You need to find out what counts as valid evidence as well though, as they could make up a load of rubbish and send it to you.
I'm gobsmacked he would continue paying under these circumstances tbh. It's not as if she can threaten to withold contact (as that seems to be the main fear in cases like this) as the daughter is taking him for a mug anyway!0
