I'm just in awe of you all for being able to do it! I didn't really understand what you and Linda were talking about with it, but it sounds like something that needs a lot of hard work and dedication, more than any other 'hobby' I can think of.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Not sure, someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Maz was going to be there, and they asked if they could go along, so I thought I would too!

  • just popped home for 10 minutes before changing heads into my afternoon job.

The thought of something rather high risk and work related is slowly growing my head and has been for about 10 days now. I may need a slap at some point soon to stop me.

Ohh, I like the idea of upping my running distance to 10 miles in 12 weeks -off to add that to mine too! My longest run was 12km....what's that? Seven and a bit miles or something? So I think 10 miles would be achievable, and good preparation for a half marathon as soon as the weather becomes slightly milder next year (not good at running in the icy cold due to asthma).

  • I also realised this morning that I seem to have lost an earring. I remember yesterday morning seeing a chink of light whizz past my ear in the shower but didn't realise it was gone until half way through this morning whilst sat at my desk - far too much hair to see my ears normally :rotfl: !! I don't really change them and I can only wear gold so I'll invest in a cheap replacement pair.

    None advertised.
Jobcentre thing last week said 51% of jobs aren't advertised and we should try the speculative approach

Sorry - got distracted by the post.....just had to pay £156 for milly's bus pass and thats just a term.....

Just a quick thought....have you thought about your local library Bookie....I wrote to the library when I was 18 and thats how I got my first job in library work...I loved that job and you would be so perfect.

I agree that the speculative approach is a good idea...

how about a generic letter like this..

Dear....(good to find out head honcho's name)

I have recently taken the very difficult decision to close my book shop business after xx no of years successful trading. The way people make purchases and the general economic climate made it very difficult for me to compete in todays market as a sole trader. However this has not diminished my love of books nor my love of working with the general public...(:rotfl:).

I am currently looking for a similar position and would be grateful if you would keep me informed of any vacancies that may arise in the near future...

*adapt to library if so desired*
