Why not try it for a few weeks?
At least my suggestion is able to be implemented IMMEDIATELY, and if the changes are evident, you can then present how well it has changed to MSE.0 -

So why was that point not outlined in your original email to MSE?tartantipster wrote: »
I have concerns from several replies that members are 'not getting the concept' and that is obvious. To go to vote you must put your case and be sure & confident that members understand it or else you are flogging a dead horse or dog for that matter, LOL!:p Besides I have mailed MSE direct. The general vote YES/NO is easy, and no ball-ache at all.

errr....you do realise you don't get to vote on MSE? you make a suggestion and they decide if they want to do it or not.Last time I looked, this wasn't a democracy

I'm not trying to second-guess MSE/Martin here but my first thought reading that is that perhaps Martin would not be totally unhappy to see the end of the GIOL board? After all, if you (MissK) decided (or through circumstances were forced) to suddenly quit, the board would have no BGs at all, which could very easily lead to the end of the board in next to no time (not hard to think of a few different scenarios that would cause an unmoderated GIOL board to implode...).
I would have thought there always needs to be a minimum of 2 simply because of "handing over the baton" as it were. To be any kind of a BG for GIOL requires a lot of specialist knowledge, it's not a role anyone (i.e. a BG from a different board) could simply pick up from scratch.
This board has always been contentious (more from the posters contributing than the others :rotfl:) but it's been allowed to stay so far because of the money making aspect of it. I'm not privy to the thoughts of MSE, I can only state that when jess stepped down, I recommended a well thought of member of this board and was informed that they are not looking for a replacement.
edit to add: right, I am going to learn this multi quote business, sorry for adding too many posts to this thread0 -

I do disagree.
The usual ten or so posters really who post every day in almost every thread.
Not knocking it/them .. but this thread really will only excite the usual "regular" crowd of 10 or 12.
Most everyone else will be "whatever" as the kids say now.Do you like my medal ?0 -
This is my sort of preferred Page One after the stickies.
centrebet - NFL promotion
betchronicle - 2-2 offer
bet365 - 4/1 racing offer
corals - 10% cashback
boyles - CL cashback special
general chat - what you had for breakfast etc etc
betfair arcade - roulette
globet - warning
winunited cashback fridays
stan james - free chips
racing post - Sept 12th offers
betclic 50€ casino offer
betonbet - warning!
and so on
And within those threads every comment, argument, reasoned discussion that there has been about that offer, including jokey posts, horses in daft hats, everything. If you want to research an offer, it's all in one place. Why have to wade through hundredweights of irrevelant stuff in a chat thread, which may in the end add nothing to your knowledge. OK it will take a bit of time bypassing the horses in daft hats, but knowing that most items will/should be relevant to a degree, so potentially useful, means that any wading through a dedicated thread is worth while.
It just seems more efficient that way.
Or have I not understood the concept?
Aren't you exhausted yet TT?
Of course chat & questions are inevitable BUT what we want is Introductory Offers/Freebets/Reloads/Cashbacks/Promotions/Bonuses/Incentives/Competitions THREADS ONLY (and discussion about those same THREAD OP's) in one Forum, and other general chat & questions in another Forum - See OP.
If it drifts a bit well OK, but as long as it starts out (the OP) as above with each THREAD in that Forum. I.E. The starting OP THREAD in Forum No.1 (Gambling Introductory Offer Loopholes) should be exclusively exclusively: Introductory Offers/Freebets/Reloads/Cashbacks/Promotions/Bonuses/Incentives/Competitions. The starting OP THREAD in Forum 2 (Gambling Introductory Offer Loopholes - Chat & Questions) should be exclusively for that, just other general chat & Q's, get it?:beer:0 -
TT: After my last post and not having the energy to re-read the whole discussion, I went back to see exactly what you set out in your original suggestion. And I'm beginning to think that my suggested Page One might be your ideal Page One subject to general chat being in a different forum. Am I right?
You referred to 'meaningless drivel' in that first post. Excluding that, or diverting it to a general chat thread in a separate forum would be far from easy. It can't be subjective - 'I'm considering posting something silly about the betchron 2-2 offer; I'd better put it in the general chat area'.
So it means it would have to be monitored, and moved. And you simply cannot impose that job on somebody's shoulders - even with two or three BeeGees. They have much more important things to do.
I'm tempted to suggest that you be given that job for a week, but you're a genuine guy, and it's possibly a bit cruel.
This should go in the chat thread:
Shall we have a poll to guess who misskool recommended as a second BG? My money's on grumbler - incredible patience (but wearing a bit thin lately), ice cool, provides the correct links in seconds. He must be odds-on surely?0 -
No. YOU don't understand the point TT that I, Mariner13, etc are making...and to be honest I'm starting to yawn.
Your suggestion is very simple to digest. VERY.
However, you don't seem to grasp what people are saying...the very essence of your response above denotes that. So I guess I'm going to have to break down my point simpler...
Ok...so at the moment there is a sticky titled "STEP 3 Matched Betting Questions Thread " where people are strangely enough to put questions about matched betting...but they don't always.
Also at the moment there is also a thread titled "No tips just chat [chat thread]." which people strangely enough are supposed to reserve just for chat. Yet although we know a lot of 'chat' has gone, at the time of writing, no 'chat' has occurred in the chat only thread since 2nd Sept!
Are you grasping my point yet? There are already separate respositories for Questions and Chat.
Do people use the forum in that manor? No. If you're still lost on what we are trying to say, I'll give up.
A) Yes, I do understand, whilst I yawn.
You are still not getting my drift it seems. I am acutely aware of the existence of all that is in existence in this GIOL Forum, what is needed is two GIOL Forums.
Forum No.1 (Gambling Introductory Offer Loopholes) should be exclusively exclusively: Introductory Offers/Freebets/Reloads/Cashbacks/Promotions/Bonuses/Incentives/Competitions THREADS, ONLY (and discussion about those same THREAD OP's)
Forum No.2 (Gambling Introductory Offer Loopholes - Chat & Questions) should be exclusively: other general chat & questions - See OP.

Are you getting my point? The set up of my logic will solve this overnight.:beer:0 -

First I don't know what 'The starting OP THREAD' means? OP = original post/poster?
All the items in my list are covered by your list of definitions, except for the chat thread.
I don't see what's different. Maybe I'm getting as exhausted as you should be0 -

I learned of it after I sent the email.errr....you do realise you don't get to vote on MSE? you make a suggestion and they decide if they want to do it or not. Last time I looked, this wasn't a democracy
ERRR, you can make your own poll, and members can vote on that. I know that the final decision on any suggestions is down to MSE and not me or you. But MSE are open to ideas.0
