Our elf will be arriving on december 1st and delivering our advent calendars. I am very excited, this is the first year i have done it. Oh thinks i'm nuts and very weird lol, but it's going to be alot of fun.

my OH thought i was mad the 1st year bertie came, he slowly got used to the idea and has made him his website last year and again this year...... he also helped hide him and played along with pranks (but drew the line at me painting his toe nails red or purple!!!)

  • bertie is live on facebook - bertie elfkins. IF you have an elf then please add as a friend. bertie will not be adding any people apart from me, my OH and kids, but i'm sure your kids will be as fascinated as mine to see that the elves have facebook.

  • This will be our first year with visiting elves. My OH thought I was mad when I told him too and he still doesn't quite get it lol!

yummy-mummy-amy I've been reading your old blogs, love Bertie! I've been setting up my own blog too, first time I've done one of those aswell!

Think I might set the elves up on facebook too, I'm sure they would love to be friends with Bertie!

I remember reading this idea a few years ago, but never actually got around to do it. I really want to do it this year but not sure if my boys are too old? They are 8 and 5, and tbh i think it may be my oldster's last year of "believing"...what do you think?

Would love to see a few elf websites when they are up and running.

my eldest will be 8 by the time bertie arrives, middle son is 5 and youngest is 1.

if you can get your eldest to believe for this year and they ask questions next year - you can then explain and get them to help/come up with ideas as long as they dont tell the little ones.

there is a lady on a forum i use about elves and she has teenage kids - they all know its her and not the elf! BUT they still enjoy it, not knowing what it is going to do next.

Does anyone knw of an online elf knitting pattern, want to give it a go to make it more personal for us all
  • Love this thread - still ploughing through it but I have bought an elf in readyness - well it's actually a Christmas gnome from home and bargain - only £1.99 but it looks pretty elflike in my opinion and I am sure my boys will think so too :)
It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission ;)
