She'll be 17 months old this year and would really like to do it, but do you think she'll be too young?
I think she'll like the elf itself and will cuddle it lots (and appreciate the chocolate) but I'm wondering if she's too little to appreciate the whole thing and maybe it would be better to wait until next year.
What do you think?
hi,
i would introduce the elf now, even if she does only cuddle it - it can move up to her bedroom or in th kitchen in her breakfast bowl = places she will see it has moved to.
you dont need to do any real mischief this year.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

Well while my fiance was fast asleep last night and I couldn't sleep I found this thread....wow you wouldn't believe how excited I got over a christmas elf :rotfl:
Its only me and my OH and we can't have children but I think my OH will appreciate a visit from a christmas elfor do people think thats a bit silly??
Had a look at peoples ideas for mischief and activities and obviously I can't really do the activities bit but im sure when my OH wakes up and finds the elf hanging upside down in the tree or sat on the floor with 'snowballs' around him after having snowball fights with the cats he'll find it amusing
I was thinking of taking pictures of the elf doing naughty things like this and making a scrap book type thing with photo's in and diary entries from the elf and then giving it to my OH on christmas day and we can look through it and have a little laugh. What do you think of this? a good idea or not? Also where could I get a book from that I could do this with?0 -

I think its a great idea what ever age people are!! Your OH may think you have lost the plot but its all in the name of ChristmasYou could do activities like a Christmas movie night, wrapping pressies that sort of thing. For the diary you could use a scrap book or make a book of your own if you are feeling arty!!
I am adapting it for the Nursery I work in - I think my kids (Preschoolers) will love it
Good luck finding an elf and implementing it all.

I have finally got around to setting ours up on facebook...what a palava!! it wouldn't let me set one up for the two of them as the name was too long... I've changed the names of our elves this year (took ages to come up with new ones - we had easy ones last year so that DS and DD could say them!)
So they have a facebook each!
Dixie Crackerjingles and Bauble Sprout (he was called Frosty Baublesprout but facebook wouldn't let me use Frosty!!!
Amy - I cannot find Bertie Elfkins when I search for him!
Emzy81 - it's a great idea!! OH thought I was crazy last year but he really got into it - he can't wait for them to 'arrive' again this year!!0 -

A brilliant idea, our elves left a book with stocking on christmas day of all their antics, I made it very simply using publisher on computer(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -
Well thats it then im doing it! :j :j and if my OH does think I'm stark raving mad (well more than usual
) then Im just going to point him in the direction of this thread and blame you lot :rotfl:
lexuslass Love the name of your elvesHopefully I can come up with something good
tq16 The stocking idea is a good one
Palema Ive started card making so I guess scrapbooking was the next step anywayI'll have to search around for a christmassy scrap booking kit to help start me off
