I love this idea, can you think of activities for my dd to do (she will be 2 on christmas day), she is already aware of santa saying his name all the time (another mini me obsessed with christmas) thanks0

I have spent the afternoon and early evening preparing Jingle and Bell's passports, and also a letter to the Nursery from Santa asking if they would look after them in the lead up to Christmas - I also typed up a letter of acceptance that Santa has enclosed for the children to return to him saying they want to look after the elves.
Will have to wait until nearer the time to arrange activities as it is all going to be done at work.

I really wish I had kids so that i could do this!!! I have a 5 year old nephew but with his mum and dad being seperated i think it would be quite difficult to do. Might suggest it to a couple of friends though*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0

hiya, i've been reading this thread and we've decided to do this for our 2 and a half year old, we've due our 2nd in a month's time so was looking for ideas to do with her while baby is having a nap, so this sounds a good way on doing that.
As my oh works in a hanger at the airport, he has access to the planes, so we thought about getting a pic of the elf sitting on a seat in the plane 'arriving' on the 1st of dec.
cant wait to do it.0 -
Great idea, wonder if I could knit an elf before the 1st of Dec??
My kids ?(4 1/2, 3 and 1) are gonna love this. Must make a list of what to do, What about him sitting with an advent chocolate for them every morning??Mummy to two beautiful girls and one gorgeous boy.0 -
I have been reading through this thread and think this is a lovely idea for the kids. I have already bought my elf (technically a goblin from Noddy but close enough!) What I really wanted to know was how to people start this off? Do you just let the elf arrive with a letter saying why he is there, or has anyone done a letter from FC before hand asking if the child would like an elf to stay. My husband has broached the subject already saying he has heard that sometimes santa sends elves to stay with children but I want to make it authentic as possible (my eldest is 6). Also does anyone have an elf passport I can doctor as the link to the one on organised christmas is not working. Thanks in advance0

Our elves arrived on 1st December last year. I had bought them the wooden advent trains that you get (the ones that you fill up with your own treats).
Eldest DD snook out the back of the house and rang the front doorbell.. DS and youngest DD's faces were a picture when I opened the door and on the doorstep they saw these two trains with elves sitting on the top! I had done the santa letter in a scroll and put it under the elves arms with their passport under the other.
I cannot wait to do this again! We had soo much fun last year!!
I think I am also going to do the mini 'elf front door' too this time as there's plenty of time to make one!!!
:j :j
p.s. twinklelittlestar, I'll see if I can find the elf template I used last year!0 -
Did this last year and the year before... my son absolutely loved it! Great to see this thread running again so I can get some ideas!
Lexuslass - would be interested to see your elf front door! Is this something you stick to your own front door so the elf can get in?!!Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."

There are some fab ideas for christmas on this site - I found it about a week before christmas last year so it was a bit late to make the door. The elves may 'arrive' through it this year, along with a load of snow!!
I don't know who's going to be more excited ... me, or the kids!!0 -
