Oh my god this is so cute! I've got a 7yr old DS and a 4yr old DD, I reckon DD will fall for it but when DS went to see father christmas at the school fete last week he told him he wasn't real  I did explain that santa couldn't be everywhere all of the time and so he needed santa helpers to get to see all the children. I think he still secretly believes but this is probably the last year
So, is it too late to have an elf visitor in my house? I've got the decs out today ready to put up either today or tomorrow so maybe the elf could arrive when the lights go on?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Our Elf only arrived yesterday. I had never heard of anyhting like this until Tuesday/Wednesday so I was straight on ebay trying to get an Elf lol. Could only manage to get a yoohoo Elf tho, he is rather cute and has massive eyes, reminds me of the gremlins movie so we have named him Gizmo. He arrived in a parcel yesterday with copy of Merry Madagasgar, 2 bags of choc coins and 2 choc elves, a notebook and pen. The kids had a blast searching for him this morning and finally found him hiding in the christmas tree, after sneaking into bed beside them and taking pictures last night of course lol.

No, not at all.... it's not too late.. I found the original thread about three days before christmas last year (which WAS too late!!) so was determined to do it this year... my almost 3 year old and my 18 month old are loving it..they are cracking up every morning!! have taken photos of their antics so far... haven't had chance to do a blog or anything yet but I think my two are a little young for all that yet, may just save them and do a scrap book after christmas (when the elves have gone back home to santa!) and bring it out next year so they remember the elves before they arrive again!!0 -
our elf from last year (bertie elfkins) has returned. OH is busy re-making his website as it disappeared. on it is a page of ideas i found on net last year - http://www.bertieelfkins.ucoz.co.uk/index/0-2 please feel free to have a look and sign the guest book (from your elf!)
bertie "was" a 7 dwarf, i added xmas ribbon over his hat n name, and added bells to his hat n toes.
for those that dont have a "proper elf", there is a section on berties website about elfs come in all shapes and sizes not just your red/green little guy with pointy ears. elfs are magical and can change shape etc.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

Anyway I asked if he could add a stamp for our local airport onto the passport for me and he did it :j :j my eldest (aged 7 DS) will believe it really is even more real now!! :j
(The one I am on about is Newcastle airport and look at the date stamped on there aswell)
this is the passport that bertie has as well and i edited it to show every year, he has been to other places as well as those listed.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

bertie wasnt in his sleeping bag this morn but as kids were late they had to wait til after school to read his journal.
the message was he had seen a person that was a bit bigger thann him (have a 13week old baby) so he had gone looking for some new clothes. he was found in the babies wardrobe stuck on a coat hanger, wear baby's "tiny 6lb tracksuit". the older 2 thought really funny.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

Wow, everyone is having such fun with their elves. We have Little Dot visiting us at the moment. She arrived on 1 December with a passport and a letter from Santa and a little snowman notebook which she writes in every night. She usually mentions what DD has done in the day and how good she has been and then gives a clue as to what mischief she is going to get up to that night. DD made a little bed for her as she came last year and she knew what to expect. Every night DD puts her to bed (which is by our fireplace) but she is never there in the morning! So far she has brought magic chocolate elves and hidden in the chocolate tin and eaten half of one! Started to make mince pies and made a floury mess every where, half eaten a mince pie and put icing sugar on it and made a mess, got out the first aid kit and bandaged herself up, got out all our christmas card craft bits and made a card for DD and made a mess everywhere. DD is now nine and is suspicious of Little Dot's Tesco label. However, she loves seeing what Little Dot has done every morning and seems to like the more mess the better. I have not been taking photographs or anything but maybe I will start. I am enjoying reading about what everyone else's elf gets up to as it gives me ideas! Little Dot will go back to Santa on Christmas eve but will probably bring a present on Christmas eve to soften the blow! DD really loves Little Dot and was really keen for her to come back this year.0

just blogged about our little elf - he drew on the boys faces with eyeliner!! They woke up with curly mustaches and thought it was hilarious!! Thankfully it was only eyeliner and not pen like the boys first thought - which he was later caught holding! :rotfl:Win £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012

Our Elves are back,I did this last year and my kids loved it.I think they are enjoying it more this year though. One of our elves was caught counting the money in my sons money box and he had been really clever and used his magic to turn some of the money into chocolate coins. Kids really believed this! I am looking for some easy elf antics for the next week until i finish work for chrtistmas when i will be able to go crazy and make the house look like santas grotto like last year.0
