Pregnant again but how do I afford it?

Back then, My Mum never got Mat leave and worked all her life to provide for me and my brother. She didn't get half the help single mothers do now.
Maybe that's why they're all at home most of the time apart from the odd part time job here and there.
You really shouldn't have children if you can't afford to look after them, but I do understand how easy it is should you FALL into that situation.
That's harsh without knowing the OP's situation.Avon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0 -
Yes still have moses basket high chair bedding and stuff so that would save a load and I could take ben out of nursery completely or only one day etc. What is a SOA? I will have a look at old style im gutted as I was just shedding the weight from the first one
A Statement of affairs (income and outgoings basically). Hey, don't fret about the weight. I got really ill after I had DS - I lost lots of weight and ended up in hospital very poorly! Who cares when you've got your beautiful baby !!! Feel free to PM me if you like - at least people can't pass judgementAvon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0 -
Firstly, congratulations!
I apologise in advance if I have grabbed the wrong end of the stick, but your post seems to imply that you are not with the father of the child.
Your post says 'I' bought a house and how will 'I' afford it etc
The father is equally responsible and will need to be helping you afford this unexpected baby0 -
ive finished work this week as also having baby no 2, our ds also turned 3 yesterday.
pregnant ladies now get a £190 health in pregnancy grant it i a one off payment after 25 weeks but hope it helps makes a teeny difference, are you intitled to a sure start grant i didnt think i'd be as oh and i both work and on fairly decent wage but still entitled to one as our tax credits where over £548 so check that out too as thats another £500twins on board0 -
Thanks Sarahlou don't worry i've got tougher skin then that. I just love that single mums get stereotyped so much bumps in the benefit queues and all that. I claim tax credits and child benefit which most families are entitled to and thats it!! I work full time always have and fully intend to as I love my job this was very much unexpected and I agree with the comment earlier that everything is swirling around at the minute but it will all settle one way or the other.Loves Cornwall - Hates plastic0

The father is around he is co owner of the property but we are not living together currently he is my 2year olds dad . It would take me 10 years to explain how complicated our relationship is but its friendly so at least I have thatLoves Cornwall - Hates plastic0 -

thanks bootski for that constructive comment just for the record I work full time I always have and have never intended having kids for what I can get out of the system.
Sorry Eyespy if I upset you. I never intended to do that just like you never intended having kids for what you might get out of the system. I was bought up by a single full time working mum in a different era so please understand I'm not out to offend you and am all up for wishing you the best.
It was just very different and more of a struggle for my Mum back then to get any king of support. You say you get working tax credits and other benefits now that she couldn't get then. I'm sure your employer has to legally support you now too and good luck to you. Their are more rights and support for single mums these days than there ever has been.
I wish you all the best and have given you advice re mortgage interest help.0
