problem with 5 year old boy

The thing is every child is different, i have looked after a child that used to imitate having sex with a big teddy, his mum was horrified and said she couldn't understand where he got it from, he was only 3.
Other boys hold it / play with it for comfort, when i worked in a nursery we just used to tell them to take there hand out of there pants and not to do that around others.
I think OP was just shocked what he saw, but at least now he knows a better way to handle it, and that his son is not 'unusual'.

I didn't say I was comfortable with it, or that he was relating it to sex, just that that is what he does.

From what I have gathered speaking to others, it's not uncommon and therefore nothing to worry about. As it's not in public, and he's never fiddled with it in public, I don't see there is anything to fuss over, all children are different. I was just trying to show the OP that it does happen and his problem is not that it is happening just where it is happening.

Yes I would agree with this.
My 6 year old DS would be fast forwarding the kissing bits on films as opposed to rewinding them cos girls are so gross and uncool at the moment :rotfl:

He knows that some boys marry girls and like them but as far as he's concerned he is going to live on his own and just spend all his money on Lego and sausage rolls apparently so tells me - that's his plan :rolleyes::D
