Ban Use of word Unlimited

I think you should be banned for wanting things banned0

I like the word Unlimited - there is always a ceiling to what can be done or am I talking carp.....probably but never change I say.0
-
The word unlimited can become misleading so I don't blame this petition being created I hate the words "up to"0
-
maybe it would be a good idea to read the petition.....I believe that saying the word unlimited and then limiting it (or enforcing a 'Fair Usage Policy') is disgraceful. Imagine if the NHS said 'free care to everyone' (as they do) and then charged people to be admitted to hospitals. It's the same principal.
Mobile networks and broadband operators do the same. Mobile networks for instance say you can have 'x' amount of minutes and unlimited texts (on some price plans). In fact, the amount of texts perceived by the operators that people would not possibly exceed is 3000 per month. However, many people I have encountered tell me that they are getting billed extra because they have exceeded their unlimited amount of texts. Now, I'm not overly smart, but to me, that sounds like an impossibility to exceed an unlimited allowance.
If you believe that this is a shambles as I do, please, sign up to this petition so we can get something done about it.
Thank you.0 -
I can, in a way, understand this. I don't see how they can use the term "unlimited" and then "limit" it?!
A petition to Downing Street might be a bit far tho, you could easily go to a consumer organisation which would probably be quicker and more effective!"Well, we are a Christian country, it is an important part of our make-up and I don't see any reason to change." David Cameron0 -
I agree with the petition, i have been stung with unlimited internet usage and then got billed £250+ for a months usage. Trading standards took it up and i got my money back.
To me unlimited is unlimited, and if there is a limit then its not unlimited.
To be fair im not even happy how virgin claim there internet is unlimited, download as much as you like, however during 2 period of the day morning and evening if you download more than x amount we cap your speed severely. At one point the cap limits were so slow you couldn't use iPlayer which was almost funny as virgin advertised there cable internet for watching TV over the internet...
This is however more an issue for trading standards, than 10 downing street.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
it is true unlimited should be unlimited but i cant see the government doing anything about it
also free when its nottechnically freeWhat goes around-comes around0 -
I agree with the fact that on an unlimited plan you should never be charged no matter how much you use the service. That is just plain ridiculous.
The company should instead have the option of disconnecting users from unlimited plans if they deem to be abusing it.
So the problem now comes down to how the company defines abuse?0 -
The word 'Unlimited' should not be used if there is a limit (Even if astronomical) but most of the ads I have seen had said 'Unlimited*' and then had a spiel about the Fair Use policy - that IMO is acceptable.0
-
but a fair use policy in a lot of cases is common sense
if you went to an all you can eat buffet and ate astronomical amounts they would throw you outthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then
