Proposing/engagement ring

Spell it out in the sand on a beach?
Sprinkle rose petals around and spell it out?
Put the ring in the bottom of a glass of champagne in a restaurant?
Have a cake made with it iced on? Or Thorntons chocolate teddy with it iced on?
Just ask her at an appropiate moment?
good luck!A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
ah! I see! Food after the proposal sounds good but then she may be too excited to eat!! Tapas therefore may be a good idea!!! :P0

My bloke proposed to me in a mud-steam room whilst on a spa break (there was only us 2 in it at the time as we'd booked it). He had wanted to write 'Will U Marry Me?' in mud on his chest, but didn't get the chance, so while I had my back turned he wipped out the ring and got down on one knee. The pair of us were in our swimming cossies, covered in mud and could hardly see each other through the steam, but it was perfect, funny, memorable and, I should think, unusual! (he kept the ring tied up for safe keeping with the string in his trunks).
I wouldn't have liked being proposed to in front of anyone else - to me it's a private thing between us two. Could you propose on Halloween or on bonfire night with all the fireworks going off?0 -
The fireworks idea is great, but as I said now i've got the ring I doubt I could wait that long!0

My OH proposed in the middle of a stone circle.
We went for a walk, was without the doggies, bit odd but I wasnt thinking proposal
He's a bit of a romantic so a walk just the two of us wasnt that odd. He'd been after a walk for ages. Bless him, something always happened some drama or other
I was looking at sheeps when he asked me.
I was soooo shocked. But it was a huge big YES and tears and awww it was amezzin.
We had food after it. I had coffee, I needed coffee (I dont drink
) and we sat at the table waiting for food to come whilst we tried to call our mummies to tell them
food after was good for me
kelda_shelton is right tho, she may be tooo excited to eat.
arls0308 thats a wicked proposal
Glad mine was private too. "I know that Prince Charming doesn’t come save me, we save each other and fight back to back against all comers that’s what marriage is to me. Nothing passive, no being carried off on a white steed, give me my own damn horse and lets ride into the sunset side by side." - Laurell K. Hamilton.0 -
Mine was on a walk too, he kept stopping and holding me with a soppy look in his eyes and I kept saying "come on, keep going, we have a lot to do today":rotfl:
In the end he just dropped his bag and asked me! Poor boy.
She will love whatever you do, especially if she thinks you haven't picked up the hint!0 -
After my Oh planned a night out with a posh meal ending in a proposal, I apparently skipped that by saying that 'I didn't want a big show off asking!' So he actually asked me in bed after a cuddle (I am still a good catholic girl, if you're reading mum
:D) And that actually keeps us laughing two years later :rotfl: :rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Good stories hopefully my missus will have fond memories of when I propose0

Whats the best way of putting you women 'off the scent' exactly? I mean my gf has been on about getting engaged, as in mentions it around once a month, since I met her.
I want it to be a surprise!0
