  • As EagerLearner suggests, it's now been four weeks, so i suggest you ring the vendors (if you have a direct number) and also contact the EA to see where things are.

You need to make a decision and stand by it now. Give them 2 weeks to let you know, otherwise you'll look elsewhere (they may contact you in the third week, but then the decision will be yours not theirs)

    Good Luck

I certainly wouldn't be waiting 4 weeks! Longest we've waited is about a day - although in the past we've had to make the point that if they don't give us an answer by 12pm tomorrow then we'll be withdrawing the offer. Usually does the trick!

I should think with Winter closing in they should consider you a great buyer - press for an answer either way and maybe pretend you have other places to offer on - maybe you do anyway...!

Hi folks, and thanks for your replies. All fantastic pieces of advice. I like getting them in writing as OH tends to listen to me a bit more then. He's not ignorant by any means, but we don't really have many people to ask for advice and being FTB's, we're as clueless as each other lol.

I will tell OH what your general consensus is and maybe he will get things moving. We've had so much to do recently it's kind of been in the back of our minds but I think it's now got to the point where we should know what's happening one way or the other. I think he's in agreement. (I can't hear him, he's in the kitchen doing our tea :-)

Carlos, I've missed you mate lol :-) Are you any closer to getting your dream bachelor pad?
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

I'm sure he'll agree, you sound like you've got him well trained?

If you need anything, just ask. Get your OH to register too, if it'll help ease his mind with some issues

Aw, thanks hun - missed you too.

My place is coming on well. Got my new windows in, started on electrics, and my mate the plumber will be round this weekend doing some prep and first fix (hidden stuff). Will have to show you some pics

Yay for Carlos. Good luck chap. I want to see some pictures!!!

OH has called the EA and apparently, right at this minute in time, the vendors are waiting to see if an offer they have made on a property has been accepted. We nearly got a phone call yesterday but EA didn't want us to get too excited if the vendors offer got refused. We should know what's happening by the end of today, tomorrow at the latest. This is good timing, it's OH's birthday today :-)

And yeah I guess I have got him trained. We went for some holiday vaccinations yesterday and I had a seizure. Despite his own pain and side effects, he still made sure I was OK and provided for in every way. He's a good man and I'm a very lucky girl.

OH is the one who introduced me to this site. He is registered but he leaves it to me. I like it really, he trusts me to make decisions based on other people's opinions and experiences. I'm grateful to MSE and you folks for helping us through this, Thank you one and all :-)

    Hey all, great news.

Offer has been accepted, we've got to go see the EA tonight to get the ball rolling.

We've just found out why things have been a bit slow, or at least haven't taken the normal route. The vendors of the house we like are cash buyers, and so are the vendors of the house they like. The last person in the chain is emigrating at Christmas so everyone wants all this sorted out as soon as possible. Yay for us, I think!

Oh good lord! The rest of this year is going to be a busy one!!! Wish us luck, we'll need it!!

    That's excellent news.

Sounds like a pretty uncomplicated chain (if there is such a thing).

You're going to have to go some to be eating your turkey at the new place.;)
  • Wow screamer, that's great news ;o)

    I'm hoping so.

And cheers to you both, I just had to tell someone :j:T:D <<< I did all these things after the EA called me!!!
