Ta, understood - thing is, the new Virgin deal I've got is supposed to give me free 24/7 calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers. I'll check, because of course they haven't sent me a new contract, but since I have that, no point in paying out for a skype headset as well.

That's a good deal, if they do :)

Right, emails done, scratches done, bingo done, banking done. Nothing for it now but to have a 2nd cup of coffee and do the last two bankings for the mystery shopping accounts.

Then I have a lunchtime phone m/shop to do, then its off to the accountant, Waitrose pesto, and probably the bus up to Asda, so I can bulk buy their bog standard cornflakes - I really *like* them - lovely that they're the cheapest!

Skype is free to download, but whoever said it, they're right, since e-bay :mad:bought it they've shoved other prices up.

To Africa it is 14p minute on a mobile and 4p a minute on landline, but it is on computer to computer that it comes into it's own. (for now.....) and some companies even have Skype accounts so you can ring them free. Maybe your French company have? Why not look at their web-site?

Thanks Olive, that was a good idea. I've just been to check the current account people and the mortgage account people - nothing. I shouldn't be surprised.... only a few years ago, I couldn't press "reply" on an email from the current account lot, and have it go back to them. They knew about it, but couldn't see it as important. Mad. I'll check later on the management company and the accountants, that might be interesting.

I've been puttering about on the boards for ages, thought I'd better write something on here!

    - finally joined the November challenge after all, £282 raised this month, welcomed by scubaangel.
    - trying to update sig at odd times - even the N Rock loan is finally coming down. I'm just going to get another cup of tea, and finish doing that.
    - done the bingo, haven't won again, how very dare they!
    - the odd 20p on the scratches.
    - London travel: booked next week's cheap train journeys, couldn't find the £1 funfare coach on their website, I think they've withdrawn it - it still only means that that journey is £6, not £4, so not too bad, and I *do* get a much faster journey.
    - London this week, I've only got one session, and if I was going with my partner I'd be out of the house for 11 hours, and he's got a bug, so I'm just not sharing the car with him for 5 hours to go through all of that. So I'm paying full whack for my travelcard today - only a month ago, that was normal!

Right, my sig is completely up to date at the moment, so this is it, frozen in time forever :rotfl:

    NRock £10,862.51 now £4261 5.7% fixed (capital balance)//Mortgage £43000 Sept 1987 now £35462 2.5% interest only//Mortgage E76,140 now E62,331
    December08 pay off £20k by Xmas09 £6581 November £10 a day challenge £282
    Om.

The right totals are going up, the right totals are going down - tho the only overpayment this year is because I cashed in an ISA and lodged it in the mortgage. I still work hard at bringing in extra money - that goes to keep me afloat, actually.

    Onwards and upwards :j

Thanks Shaun! You know, you really are a mine of information on telecoms and computery stuff, I do appreciate it! Especially the bit about your mobile becoming part of your computer, so to speak. I can see that in the future, I'll need it. Its just that I don't need it now - at the mo, I only need to dial France once a year, if that. When I'm taking more charge of my French situation (because I have more money :D), or when I'm out and about all the time (again, because I have more money :D) then it will be great to have it.

Right now, its just not necessary :( I wish it was. The new deal I have with Virgin apparently takes calling a UK mobile down to 7p per minute. If I use 18186 or something on here, the kind where you don't even need an account, that takes it down to 6p per minute. And I have free access for up to one hour to 01, 02 and 03 numbers in the UK, via this Virgin deal that I still don't have the contract for. I think thats good enough for now, tbh.

Okay, stopping now - one more waltz around the threads, and I'm off to have a bath and relax for ten mins, then away with me to London, till tomorrow.

Have a good'un, one and all.
    xx
