Nah, not barking at all KC - I think it's just that many of us on here were brought up through the late 60's - 70's, when there genuinely was a lot more politeness and respect out there from most areas of society. Thinking back to when I was a child, we would have been too scared to do stuff wrong in case someone got a Policeman, now all respect for the Police has been lost so there is nothing to fear for the kid who vandalises something, or makes someones life hell.......and as for good manners, they do really seem to have been forgotten by most. I had a colleague a while back aged 22 - her attitude was amazing, she just absolutely thought the world owed her a living and when she was at one stage pulled up over not saying thank you to someone who'd helped her out of a hole, her response was to say that "no-one really takes any notice of that any more, do they!"🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Morning! Good - the concensus is that I'm not paranoid......... or that I'm less paranoid than Shaun, anyway
thanks EH! And yep, thats when I was brought up - when I went to High School, I remember being terrified by the sixth formers, not that they *did* anything, just that they looked like grownups to me, and they seemed to chat to the staff instead of fearing them, and I couldn't work out who they were, so to speak. Not that I'd want any child to live in that sort of fear, but there must be some sort of balance between that and what we have today........ oh god, I've lapsed straight into Grumpy Old Woman again
:o:o
Right. Okay. In the spirit of Red Squirrel, I don't have a cold. I'm not working till the evening, so I'm going back to bed soon, after some more fluids.
I've done the little fiddly bits - won £1 on Virgin scratch! I think thats my first ever £1 - so I bought 5 tickets on the 2p game to show willing.
I really doubt I'm going to do anything dfw-ish today - the most I might do is sort through my pending pile of papers, to get the urgent ones I've put on hold to the top of the list. Off for a mooch round the diaries....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning Karma, glad you don't have the cold either
Feel better soon x

Just take that as a given. I managed to do the session I had booked yesterday, and do a tesco order - no codes from here I could use, boo hiss, tho I did have some of my own vouchers for extra points. Being delivered in the next hour - I was about to need shopping, and I can't use energy going out - anyway, delivery costs £4, and a bus ticket costs £3.20 - no brainer!
Haven't cancelled work today either, tho I have one very long session tomorrow that needs a lot of physical work from me that I might well cancel, its too intense. Otherwise, about to have a phone meet with my partner so we don't breathe each other's air - he's got a lurgy of some sort!
Just off to make a hottie (no no no! hot water bottle) and phone him. Hope everyone is well, and *dry*.

Just stayed up to listen to the bank charges decision before going back to bed
**cough splutter**
I watched the BBC, the announcer said "I can just see Martyn Lewis in the background of the shot behind you [behind the reporter] we really need to hear his views, can you call him over for us, tell him we're live on BBC".
Important or what?
I'm not reclaiming any charges, but I really feel for those who are. Loved Martyn's interview, very coherent, and actually *answering* the questions he was asked, rather than grandstanding, like politicians.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Off to see what Martin has to say no bank charge reclaim for me but still interested to know the result.

Oh dear although I am not surprised the gov would have had to bail them out again if the judgment had gone against them - bad news though for an awful lot of people and unfair when some people have had their money back and others havent0
