Well. Thats interesting. In light of my circumstances, they can offer me £350 plus vat, which is 402.50. I'm going to go ahead and accept that - at this time of year, and with all the stress of coping with it in the few weeks left (I know its a couple of months, but .....) that feels like a decent offer, compared to the £483 I was paying - £80 less. I wish I was already doing the November £10 a day challenge officially, that would be a big chunk off it. Maybe I'll join late - its better than crying, which is the other thing I'm tempted to do. And eat chocolate.

Hi El - thanks for your thoughts. I'm not sure about what its like when you close a business, wish I could help, sorry - I don't think mine will ever officially close - there's no stock, for one thing, and I'll get people coming back for a few sessions here and there for years, as long as I'm in this country, I should think.

Thanks Shaun, read it! I hopped over to Tesco too, and found this little headset for £4.97

    AC104 Tesco Internet Phone
    Catalogue number: 100-1294
This product can be used with the Tesco Internet Phone service

Would this do? The cheaper bluetooth headsets look *very* cool, but I haven't got my wireless stuff together yet, I don't think I should go that route.

Right, I've just ordered a headset from Tesco Direct - £4.97, collect from a local town for free, otherwise its £5 delivery, which would be a bit silly on something that only costs that. However, I've finally found a pricelist for the UK - and it costs 16.5p per minute to ring a mobile on skype!!!! Thats half as much again as I was paying with Virgin!

It *will* be really cheap to ring France, which I have to do to my bank occasionally. But credit lapses after 180 days. Okay, I think I'm going to try to cancel the Tesco Direct order!

If you haven't downloaded Skype yet, check Quidco as I'm sure you get something on there for them.

I'm with you, Taxi, it used to be - then I think when the telecoms revolution went crazy, they got taken over by someone or other, and started charging too.

I don't think I'm going to be using them, Squizz - they're really expensive for contacting a mobile, and I don't phone France enough to make it worthwhile. But if that changes, absolutely - I didn't realise I could go through quidco for them, thanks!

I've upset my new Canadian friend, in not communicating enough - its hard to tell someone that your head is totally consumed by debt and money is as tight as it is. Maybe I should direct him to have a look at this thread....... :(

Oops hadn't read previous post properly, thought you said 'half as much' not 'half as much again'.... *Squizz goes away to try and wake up* :o
