Great ..just seen your last post....and your money is on the way back.
I know about the accounts zapping you...that's what I did..brought them right upto date and now do them daily....so much less stress.0 -
 hey Taxi! Mine was only £20, if I'd had your amount of dosh tied up, I think I *would've* been freaking slightly. All is now square, and I have to think how to find that kind of money again - I have to say, its been really easy money. I wonder what other bingo accounts are that easy? Back to matched betting, I reckon.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I'm sure somebody will find another loophole somewhere.I don't understand MBing so will leave that well alone.0
-
Yep, I reckon I'm leaving MB alone at the mo - I write out my to-do list of *all* the jobs - dfw, housework and work - and I'm snowed under today, no way I could focus on mb. Ah well. I've let mystery shopping go a bit recently, but I've booked in one phone call today - its got to be recorded, and my new Virgin phone line didn't want to do that last time, which is also why I laid off. I'll have another go today, and if it doesn't work again, I'll have to deallocate it and slag Virgin off some more.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That's a pain if Virgin don't allow you to record the call.Don't wear yourself out too much today.0

I know, I'm a bit wary of that myself, Taxi, thanks! In fact, I've moved the mystery shop phone call to Thursday, which is much freer.
And I've also added to my to-do list - I just spent 20 minutes hacking away at the twigs on the branches I'd cut down last week - so I could put a dollop of them in the bin. There's a *lot* that needs to go, tho I won't do any more - when the wall is bashed down in a week or two, there'll be space in the skip for that sort of thing. Thinking of it, I shouldn't have done what I did. Ah well, it got me out in the fresh air.
Just checked my BB account, and I didn't win again today - thats okay, I banked £15 from them this morning.
EDIT - aargh. I'm starting to wonder if I'm making too much of a meal of doing the m/shopping accounts - nobody else is wailing about it the way I dobut I know what my accountant wants from me, to see the various lists - income vs expenditure - add up, and if I don't do it, they'll get their clerks to do it, and charge me. I'm going to have a word with the Inland Revenue next year and see if I can do my own accounts, since I do all this work, its crazy to then pay the accountant hundreds of pounds.

Boo to your accountants
It does sound like you should do the tax return yourself.
I only use our accountant because he runs our personal tax returns in with the business returns so we don't have to pay - otherwise I would be doing it myself too - I didn't do anything very complicated with my MS accounts amount received less required purchases less travelling expenses 40p a mile.

Travelling is fiddly - odd combinations of buses and trains that I get from traveline.info. I've been checking that I have the coversheet for each shop, and stapling the travel tickets to it. And as well as those expenses, there are the ones where you *have* to buy something - whether its something you use, or, as I've done a few times, bought a train ticket. Maybe its cos I did a lot last year - my highest month, I earned £170, no funny expenses, but all solid shops at £5 - £10 a go. It took forever, mind you.
But then I start wondering about depreciation and all the weird sorts of things that accountants do.....and my French apartment too, there are English expenses on that. Life is never simple
EDIT - I've just been over to the Inland Revenue site. I'm really, really wondering about this, even for this year - I think I'm going to talk to the IR people, weird as that sounds - I need some disinterested advice about whether my income and outgoings are too complicated for me to do my own tax return. Even if I have to pay, say, £100 to the accountant for work they might already have done (which I really doubt they've started) it might be worth it - their bill is more than a week's money for me nowadays2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I always use an accountant as they can answer any awkward questions that IR have to ask and the bill is tax deductable anyway...just gives me peace of mind.Though your accountant seems to charge a lot.0

Sorry forgot to say that £300 is back in my account from KJP.0
