    hows the dvd's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Shaun, I haven't had time to watch them! The post only arrived at 3 on Thursday, when I was deep in accounts doodoo, and the client I had that evening finished at 9.30 - I watched one then, it was *brill*, much better than watching on youtube - and then I was out of the house on Friday, after more accounts doodoo, at 10am - and I got back at 11.30pm. At which point, I fell into bed (okay, I confess, I set the DVD player to record Shakespeare In Love. And then I fell into bed.) And I've been up about half an hour :o

Today tho, I'm just nipping out to town for some fresh veg, don't have much in the house, and then I'll have a little dvd fest all my own.

Have you managed to watch any Shanks and Judge yet? Can you hear it properly if you do? A lot of it is sort of cinema verite, literally following them around with a camcorder, so its a bit difficult, but it can be quite fascinating. :o:o:o

Just thought I'd pop on here and gloat about getting one over (a little one) on Tesco. Expensive buy was a couple of packs of gluten free pasta, but I made up for it with everything else:
    - really high quality Christmas pud weighing 907g for £5, half price - I'm hosting at home for my birthday, for the first time ever this Christmas, this will do well between six of us, with lots of leftovers.
    - McCoys crisps were half price, 6 x 32p for 75p.
    - and I got a till spit, 100 extra points for an 02 top up, and I use them anyway, so I bought the topup - 6 months to use it, so no problem. So I got the 100 extra points, the normal double points on £10, and the 300 "free" texts for the month after the topup.

They sort of gave me £9.75! And I'd been to the new Lidl round us, and got a big cucumber, a kilo of carrots and three quarters of a kilo of bananas, for a *total* of 87p. Very good shopping! And now, I'm not moving over the doorstep - I've put the bin and empty recycling box in the garage, to be on the safe side. A storm like this and a bin strike *really* don't go together

  • Well done to you KC - I love winning against Tesco too. I've preordered a CD and a DVD in the last week - 500 extra clubcard points plus standard CC points, and Quidco cashback on both....total spend over the two transactions was £22.82 I think,on which I got £1.82 cashback, and a total of 1042 CC points, which convert into deals as £41.68! I make that a free CD & DVD (which is part of OH's xmas pressie!) plus a little over £20 profit! :j

Weather's horrible here too - I think you're right about putting anything that might take off somewhere safe - I have a feeling it's going to be that sort of evening!

Isn't that great! Well done for you too :j I wish I wanted some of those 500 extra points DVDs - I *do* want the Harry Potter one, but its blu-ray, and thats no good for me  grrrrr. Mind you, if I worked it like you have, they'd be paying me, wouldn't they? I better go have a think about that........... thanks, EH!

The weather's slacked off in the last few hours, but from everything I hear there's still a lot more on the way.

Great shopping KC..really proud of you...
Lidl and Aldi can both be very reasonable for fruit and veg..I'm lucky as I have both within a 5 min walk from my house...so often get bits there.

The Harry Potter DVD is in the mix too - go to the preorders section, then go to DVD's...it's about £13 odd I think, and is out first week of December.....! Happy shopping!

    Thanks Taxi!

EH - I'm confused on that site. I thought it was in the mix too, at first. Its definitely available to preorder, but I'm not sure if it gets the 500 points. I'll waltz around the site again, I think.

    Ta!

Morning! My plans for the day are a little changed around - with moving house next year, I'm rejigging the beds I'll be taking with me, and I'm getting rid of the double bed in the spare bedroom - for the number of times I have a couple staying with me, it takes up way too much space, and so my sister is bringing down a spare single bed that she has. So single friends can stay (that happens much more often than a couple staying) and I would have somewhere to sleep if my bedroom was too hot or something, and I still get more space in the 2nd bedroom. Works all the way round.

Otherwise, done scratches and bought bingo cards. And believe it or not, I'm just arranging the current year's accounts papers into the right folders :o After all the fuss I've made, I confess that I always do this, but I want to carry through on it more.

Oopsie. Got to go, don't want my sister to turn up at the door and still be in my tat...... hope everyone has a good day.

  • Hmmm - you might be right about the Harry Potter DVD KC - I'm not absolutely certain. It was fine for me because I wanted to get it for OH for christmas but I wouldn't want to think anyone might order it on the strength of the 500 points and then them not come through. :o I know the Robbie Williams CD was - I got that in the nick of time last Sunday evening!
