I know how you feel about the logistics of Christmas and the planned element. We all live in the same area, most of us live in the same city, 2 of us don't drink, 5 of us drive, and its still a nightmare working it all out, around who needs to be where and when.
sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves for it to be perfect. And it never will be, because it will never live up to our ideal. Plus, it will happen again next year, and the one after that.......

Thanks gill - I'm really teed off with myself, tbh, I've pushed the stress level a bit too hard, and I'm coming down with a cold
that must be why I've felt so bad these last few days. Well, it makes it easier to do what I want - doesn't feel like I'll ever learn to do that in relation to the family.
How are your Christmas plans coming along, on a day to day level? The local thing makes me think of childhood Christmases - on Boxing Day, we'd always go to my mum's parents in Bootle - all the cousins mucking about in the kitchen, or out the front building a snowman, or out the back looking at the tarworks... good times!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I know what you mean re the stress levels - it is what I am blaming for the big spot that has decided to appear in the middle of my chin today  <<<<,and looks like that too!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Oh I remember you talking about that! I have concealer I bought ages ago from Debenhams (for the shadows under my eyes) .... I may have to graduate to that!
And I've just discovered a sort of advantage to arthritis - I couldn't open the bottle of wine - so I had to fall back on some raspberry brandy that was already open - it must be years old2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Since *when* has NOT being able to open a bottle of wine been any sort of advantage!!?!!
I worry for you :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Ah, but instead of Marks and Sparks £10 dine in wine, I get to drink estate-made raspberry liqueur from the Benedictine lot! There's a noticeable increase in quality, and I find my bright sides where I can2023: the year I get to buy a car0
