Thank you all! Yes, contentment in a home that feels good - thats what I have right now!
So the thing now is to get the place ready for Christmas - the mini trees, for instance, are in the middle of the living room floor, drying out on an unused shower curtainAnd its really important to do my version of what Hypno's doing - live a life while doing what needs to be done! Which means
Christmas
look after my health
get some local activities and friends
and generally enjoy life :j

Ooo KC, love that post. I need to do all of the things that you have posted too. Perhaps we can spur each other on. For me the hardest thing has been getting local activities and friends. Must work on that in the new year. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Thanks all! Cherisong, thats definitely something I need to do - I would've needed to do it even in my previous town, nearly all my friends seem to live at long distance, but I have an *excuse* now
:o:o I shouldn't need one, but it sort of makes me feel more secure.
I think I'm going to hop off now and do a bit of tidying up and weekend preparation sorts of things. Including a few computer gamestho not for long.
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
..... when the builders had gone, and I sat there, I had a little tear in my eye - not much of a one, because there's still a fair bit to do - I feel like I haven't lived in a comfortable house since I left my central town house, back in 1998. And this one is going to be lovely - still needs stuff, and the spends have gone over a bit because of things that needed doing, but thats okay, its *mine*, and its lovely!
You sound so content with everything, not sure if you realise the difference. It's like macgirl posted on my diary a while ago, there is a change in 'tone', if thats the right word.
I think I want to do something a bit more social, my friends don't live that far away, but trying to organise nights out is somehow very complicated. I did look into a 'singing club' - not a choir, and must chase that up again.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I really like the feel of your posts KC definitely you have turned a corner and I can see you storming ahead in the New Year which is really good because I have felt quite worried about you recently
Have a very very happy Christmas and a brilliant new year in your newly sorted house

I'd like to echo what DT and others have said. Your posts are very heartwarming and really make me smile

How lovely! Sorry you've been worried about me, DT - I guess my health is still an issue, but with the house much more sorted than it was, its easier to find the energy to look after my health even more, and to go out and find social events and new friends there. And when my mum goes to my sister's on December 31st, I'll be able to set the office up for my trading, finally, and start in on that properly in January.
I love the idea of positivity spreading outwards from the various threads on mse - happy to my thread join the abundance2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
