Squizz, I've just been talking about that very thing with my sister on the phone, and one client has cancelled because there are no trains. So I'm off to check the trains website, and the detailed weather forecast, then ring my partner - I'm 90% sure I'm cancelling - no way I'm going to sit on a station at 1am for an hour like those peeps did last night, poor things.

Here's a video of how other countries cope with snow...

I see the government is ordering an inquiry into why we're so crap...

Thats an amazing video! Of course, it keeps going to the next one from that guy - the next one shows a snow plough getting stuck, and the one after that shows one thats derailed! Lots of fun with !!!!!! and Jane :)

I've cancelled both my sessions - put my snow photos up on Pippi's thread (its where I was having the conversation, thats all), had my lunch - still haven't put tape on the gap on my front door seal as Z advised - its a corner, I'm having to think about it, and I'm not always good at thinking :) but I need to do something active now. Then the French accounts are calling me. See you later, folks

Yes indeed! There is a one with a steam train in this country from the 50's and 60's - but I can't find it. I shall keep looking...

Get a cotton wool ball, tape it into the corner, then shut the door on it.

Thanks Lula! I'm pleased to have opened a photobucket account, I needed it anyway, I think, to use for the blog next year. I've done very little - hung a couple of pictures up, got some others ready to blu tak, cleaned a few, put a few ready to go the charity shop, blah blah. Not done the French accounts. I'm really, really tired - probably the weather, I suppose. I'm going to have *lots* of protein just now, I've had some nuts but I want **more** :rotfl:

  • Love the snow pictures KC - you've got lots more than we have here, although hearing news of Gatwick being closed for yet another day I knew it was bad down your way.

If you can manage just to stay inside in the warm, then this weather seems to be a good excuse to do just that! :D

  • Cancelling London seems like a sensible option KC. It's not an ideal way to spend the night, sat on a train in the middle of nowhere.

I'm with taxi, I didn't realise people had power cuts. We had one last year, but it was just a local substation, and for about 5 minutes, other than that there was a big city wide one about 6 or 7 years tagohat lasted a few hours - that's all I can remember. Other than the 70's of course.

Thanks folks! Gill, the power cuts here are never long, and possibly in the central parts of towns they don't get them at all - I think "two or three a year" was an exaggeration - but in the last five years, its definitely been once a year :o and I really have had one already in this house. Hence the candles, as I say. Heating would be survivable - I have the gas hob, so I'd sort of move into the kitchen.

Today: a few phone calls, a few emails, and I've decided to work on my bedroom today - clean the floor properly (its a mess after mucking about with the accounts for so long), seal the little plaster cracks by the woodwork - I'm getting quite a few visitors from the loft via those cracks  and clean the window and the blind. That will be a really good day's work if I get that lot done :rotfl:and frankly I doubt I'll be bothered to do it all! Its all pretty boring :rotfl:
