  • We're fairly used to power cuts too - don't get many here, but up in the Hebrides they happen fairly regularly - when we were up earlier in the year the people who own the cottage had arranged for a chap to come and fix the washing machine. We let him in, and he got started on the job, and I offered him a cuppa which he of course accepted, only to find I couldn't make it as the power had gone! A little over an hour later it popped back on again *just* in time for him to check the machine was all OK and repaired! Handy timing! Up there we always have candles etc ready and waiting just in case.

    Morning Karma,

we've also had a few power cuts here, they dont often last long but when we lived abroad they were a regular feature, at least a couple of times a week. It has taught me to always keep stocks of candles & more than one method of heating & cooking.

Good luck with banishing the 'visitors' I used to have a few of those but His Royal furry Purriness now scoffs the lot :undecided

Staying in & keeping warm is the way to go today :D

Morning! I know it is, I know, but I *really* want to go to Sainsbury's! I've just been reading about the detoxifying effects of plums ... thats an excuse, I just want **out**....

And just had a wonderful example of how I ignore my to-do list: I've just been emptying/repacking boxes in the living room - its still a storage room/corridor, basically. And I've got rid of two :) plus I've packed up the understairs cupboard properly. And got that child's sewing machine out, ready to list on ebay this weekend. Actually, I won't be too hard on myself - its impossible to do one room at a time, it can't be done - all my curtains are in a box in the living room, for example, but I can't put the bedroom curtains up till I've done the work in my to-do list. But I couldn't even get to the curtains easily until I'd reorganised the boxes in the living room, blah blah ... and so it goes.

Things are starting to look more like a house that somebody *lives* in, and that really lifts my spirits, doesn't matter what the weather's like. But I still want to go to Sainsbury's :D

Well get yourself to Sainsbury's then KC! :T You've done plenty - and it's all on your long term to do list even if not the specific one you wrote for today - which, after all, was written from the long term one anyway :D Well done :T

    Morning KC and friends :hello:
I think so long as you're togged up and have good footwear - give it a go! There is plenty of ice around where the snow has melted though - so beware.

I was thinking this morning on my way back from school that I quite like this weather really and the little adventures of merely getting out of the house. I was rolling my eyes to a Mum saying I'm sick of it already - but honestly, I not! I love it :D

As for the house, you sound like you are doing great. 15 minutes a day is all flylady recommends (or even bursts of 15 mins followed by a cuppa break for another 15 ;)), so if it's good enough for her...

    Have a good day :)

Thats the fly in the ointment, tbh - I *don't* have good footwear, I just have some trainers. Its a normal 20 minutes, so half an hour in this weather - if its too icy, I'll turn back, but I need out!

2 pairs of socks then ;) I think trainers are as good as anything, they'll have good grip. I was looking at snow boots yesterday, pity they didn't have my size as they were only £22. I nearly bought some last year, but thought it was a waste as we never get much snow  Might have to reconsider now, what with this old Global *Warming* lark.

    Have fun out there!
