Yoo hoooooooo, KC, how was your trip? I've not set foot outside the door, friends have come over and told me how scarily slippery and icy it is now, so I've not dared venturing out. Hope you got the bits you needed

I'm fine thank you! The pavements were really bad, even some slopes weren't cleared, but by the time I started for home I felt more confident - still took it really slow.

I didn't even *need* any bits really - I would've bought wellies, none there, and I did buy some lard to make fat balls for the birdies - forgot it at Sainsbo bought it at a Londis, it was still only 45p. People were stocking up at S. like the day of the hurricane back in 1987! The only thing that was really advantageous for me to get was a kilo of frozen broccoli - superfoods strike again :jand I got some gluten free almond cakes :j:j:j more importantly

I got home just before the freezing fog started up - thank god I'm not working in London today .... and I've warmed up enough to have a bath soon ....

Glad you're back safe and sound I'm hoping my hiking poles arrive soon, wonder if the postie will venture out to us tomorrow?? Fingers crossed, I've just ventured out about 20 paces to the bin and was a bit scared, daft me! Good job I've turned down an invite to the village pub tonight......will have to crack open a bottle of amaretto in my nice snug house instead!!

ooh, it would be nice to have a bit of a drink .... I wasn't really too thrilled about going out into that cold, but I knew that if I didn't I'd feel really bad tonight, so trapped. So I did, and it was fine! I saw loads of people with ski poles, by the way - they look a *really* good idea.
