I've been on and off mse all day - forgot that I hadn't posted on my own thread!
Work has gone really well, in spite of my slightly dodgy diary keepingbut I'm completely shattered - not from work, but the shopping trip yesterday. So I've done absolutely nothing after finishing - literally all I've done is open the post and stack what isn't wanted in the recycling. It feels like midnight right now to me! Just realised I need to buy some train tickets cheap for Friday, and actually I should do *something* soon, because otherwise I won't sleep tonight. but on the whole, I'd rather be living in Spain right now

Hmm, I'm with you on Spain. Good that you got the shopping done before the snow though and the garden plans sound exciting!
Just chill tonight0 -
In spite of how tiring it was, I'm so glad I did that trip yesterday - between the accounts, and making a good start to the Christmas shopping, I'm happy. And I *have* just booked those tickets - didn't manage to get the very cheapest ones, but still good value. And I've woken up now! So I'm going to have a cup of tea, of course! And then do a little tiny bit of online Christmas shopping.
Edited to say: I'm really excited about the garden, its so accessible, and so easy compared to what I've had these last 12 years. I know more or less where the fruit trees and shrubs are going to go - I need to figure out how much space the little salad veggies and herbs need. Thats going to be quite fun - in fact, I could play with that tonight.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC , there is a fair amount of stuff about square foot gardening on various blogs. It was the principle I used for my tiny yard, and I managed to grow loads of stuff. Stops you putting too much in and makes it so much more manageable.
Good that you stocked up with stuff earlier before the snow, handy to have some basics that you can turn in to something.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!
I remember seeing a Gardener's World about square foot planting - they filmed an RHS experiment, I think. I'll certainly do some research before I start. The one bed from a bedframe must be about 4' x 6', and the other will be smaller I think - hmm, its on the diagram as 4' x4'. Oh, that means I can put the old chopping board in the middle of that one for somewhere to put my feet
I'm not planning too seriously yet, because I need to finish cutting things back - I'm not doing the "stopping things" pledge now that was on MG's blog with Mr Big - I pledged to stop cutting stuff I was getting rid of into little tiny pieces so it would go in the rubbish - but I still don't need to cut it into tiny pieces any more - I have the compost bin! Ta-da! Of course, the woody stuff is still a problem, and I don't think I want to put all the rhodendrons in there - they can still go in the bin, unless they act to keep the soil acid? I need it to be suitable for blueberries and cranberries on that side.
EDIT - I didn't complete what I meant to say: I couldn't order the green bin from the council that would have sorted it all completely, because they have a moratorium on new signings. Thats why I had to think of another way to go.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
The gardening stuff is sounding exciting.
they have snow in Malaga and Portugal at the moment....I'd be peed off if I'd booked a holiday there..lol0 -
Thanks Taxi!
Snow in Malaga! I've used Malaga Airport a couple times, and the city looked lovely, a proper Spanish place ... I'd be peed off too
I managed to get more sleep last night - still awake at 6.30, but better than it has been, I might email the herbalist and ask if she has any suggestions.
I've just been working through Martin's email - I can print the New Look voucher to help with a men's hoodie - pick up a gift catalogue at the Curry's at Victoria on Friday (if I can get to Victoria, given the snow!) - maybe buy the Telegraph over the weekend for the Body Shop voucher, if I'm sure I'll get to a Body Shop, which I'm not. And I must switch my fuel provider, I really must, even Eon have told me I'm not on their cheapest tariff, let alone anyone else's.
I have to get back in gear today, after recovering from the shopping trip on Monday:
- 2.5 hours paid work
- phone builder
- phone floor layer.
- phone NHS rheumatologist (well, her secretary).
- keep on tidying and throwing stuff.
- wash some windows (on the inside!) - choose from kitchen, bedroom, porch.
That'll do!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Remember the leccy man I had to stand up to last week? I just found the house he lives in, round the corner from me, that he's selling - he's on Rightmove

More than twice the price of mine! I'm very glad I got him to come back and do his stuff!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds like a plan KC! :T
We've recently switched to Ovo, no trouble at all - we're on their 100% green something-or-other tariff - one of the reasons I went with them was because they only have two tariffs to choose from :rotfl: And I could do it all online (although I did ring up to ask something - so easy), get all my bills online etc. Don't know whether you're interested in a green energy tariff (or what you have at the mo), but this website lets you compare them and see which one will suit your household usage, and also who does what over and above their legal minimum requirements0
