My sister *hates* my kitchen, she is a fan of fitted kitchens with everything behind cupboards or in drawers, but I have some big earthenware pots that were my nan's that I keep utensils in, and another one for foil etc. I like things to be available.
Great bit like our place - all in a jar! I love it being available too!

Thats interesting about kitchens, fitted or out .... I like fitted, and I like minimalism, but I don't need to have everything away, not in the kitchen, anyway - as you say, I like stuff to be on hand. At the moment, there's a big stoneware pot I have labelled Kitchen Utensils, and I'm currently using it to keep some of my knitting needles in
and I think they may stay there in the long term
The stuff that should be in the bathroom is currently in the washing up bowl, which *isn't* terribly satisfactory, and shows why I focus so much on the storage
I just have to accept the ups and downs of when I have energy and when I don't, really, and that smooths things out as much as I can, currently.
Tired but contented right now - saw my sister this afternoon, and my niece has a job interview - positive, positive vibes her way for next Thursday.....
Z - thanks for the tip, I've vaguely seen something about it, but didn't know I "knew" anyone who'd tried it. Pepe? Whats his full online name? I can't think where he posts at the moment (I'm so insular )....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hello Karma,
I'm pretty sure that salad leaves would grow indoors & of course there's basil, mine is still thriving0 -
Oh thats true, isn't it! Our summer stuff would grow indoors .... lettuce and whatnot, in plantpots .... what fun that could be! I can't wait to get everything sorted so I can start!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Positive vibes all round for your neice -
Goodluck with the indoor growing - brilliant idea - you do get varieties which like winter growing - and alot of the cut and come again types will do nicely - and there are alot of winter/chinese leaves which do well too.
We did lettuces the week before last week at the garden classI've a shonky sheet on it if you want it. Might or might not help - but give you a good overview of types etc x Feel free to tell me to sod off!

I have a mixed variety of lettuce in a seed tray, had loads outdoors in the summer, but get some during winter. So long as they don't get too cold they're fine. Basil is really good, but I generally manage to kill it, most garden herbs will grow fine on a windowsill. How about mushroooms?
