Morning all - Harry Potter kept me company last night :) and I've also realised that things are changing in our little routines: Martin has the newsflash about Rpoints being in trouble - and I thought about those 2300 points at lightspeed of mine, so popped over there quick and got some Amazon vouchers. I have the numbers already, and I've already applied for more amazon vouchers from toluna, £15 worth, tho they haven't arrived yet - if they go bust, I shall be displeased

Also got to grips with the way virgin are stopping their free scratch - so I'll have 3 days of spending £1 on bingo, as I have £3.10 in there, and then thats that - I'll still have tab, but thats dependent on actually, you know, winning :rotfl:

Its a sign! I didn't want to carry on doing this stuff anyway, and now its stopping :rotfl:

So, after nattering with Pippi last night, my focusesseses are:
    - counselling/therapy work
    - getting the house straight
    - getting trading
    - using the garden
    - a social life!

These were the focuses before, to be honest, but while I've not been well, the garden has completely gone by the board. Now I'm convalescent, it needs to come to the fore a bit.

    This morning:
    - leap in the shower
    - quick zhush around with the spiffy vacuum cleaner in the living room
    - go to X ray department to get X rays done - get them done *only* if I can get back here for 11am.
    - 11am meeting.
    - DVD tower is turning up between 2 and 5 pm, I had a phone call yesterday.
    - prune and gather leaves in front garden while waiting for DVD tower :D
    - put dvd tower together
    - have a cup of tea :D

Ooh, isn't it a lovely feeling to be refocussed?? :T Good luck with the x-rays, and the meeting. How lovely to be pottering in the garden! I've found that even 15 minutes out there does me, and the garden, some good! :j (mind you, I do have rather a small garden! :rotfl:)

Don't wear yourself out today, hope it's a good one! xx

I am liking the positivity this morning KC. Sounds like a very organised and busy day for you. Hope the x-rays go ok and that you can get them done.

  • Nice bit of focused pottering planned this afternoon then! :D There is one thing wrong there though - you only have ONE cup of tea on the list.....?!

  • Hope the X rays go well today. And the rest of today of course!

Pea shoots are definitely a good crop - we grew loads! Slugs and snails do like nibbling them quite a bit though, so would recommend some preventative measures - copper tape round the containers seemed to work. Peas and beans are pretty easy - are your concerns (finger-wise) about picking them? If you're bothered about weeding etc, you could try the bean/ maize/ squash thing which is pretty low-maintenance - http://www.selfsufficientish.com/matrix.htm

Thanks cheri, and Taxi too. Yep, the X rays did happen, tho they nearly didn't - in my old town, I was in and out in ten minutes, here it was over 1.25 hours  though I *could* see what the problem was, and it wasn't of their making, so fair enough. Practically ran home for my meeting, which was lovely (peer supervision for a friend) and am now collapsed with *another* cup of tea - don't worry EH, there have been/ will be many :D:D:D all very weak, of course.

Squizz, sorry, it was you that did the pea shoots, I remember now :o you and Mr Squizz worked really hard, and you had lots of home grown plates of food this summer, didn't you.

The issues around my fingers aren't really about picking them - its about doing too much that puts strain on my fingers - which is where the gardening could be a problem :( but if my preventive measures work, as well as orthodox measures, then I should be able to do up to an hour a day, which is plenty really, when you think about it. Okay, I'll shut up (for now :D)

I'm definitely having a rest at the moment - I'm certainly not going to drain myself like I did when I first moved here, and I'm pretty sure I deserve another cup of tea :coffee: :D

I know it might be extra expense, but getting tools for gardening which are more comfortable might help a lot. e.g. For small trowells get ones with bigger handles, so that it fits the hand better. Spades that are the right height for you etc.. It does take a bit of investigation to find the right ones though. If you google arthritus and garden tools, there are lots of hits to investigate.
