hugs from here too..sorry you felt yuck and hopefully it'll pass soon.
can understand your sentiments in the middle of your post as that exactly sums up how I feel too xxx0 -
Hi Taxi - yes, I can read an undercurrent of that in your posts, hugs to you. Yours is much more long term of course, and much more serious, but the same issues, at whatever level. For me being on my own as I am, the boon here has been that I now have a dishwasher
which means that what energy I *do* have doesn't go on washing the s*dding dishes
I'm boiling water for a cuppa coffee - been looking forward to this since the last one at 7am!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Karma -
I've always tried to live my life in rythm with nature & its cycles (although many people see it as just being a bit bonkers) ; the waning moon is the time to be banishing things from your life ie decluttering, weeding etc. A waxing moon is the time to be creating & doing stuff.
I'm sure in a couple of days you'll feel re energised ... in the meantime, have a large & 'slightly iffy' hug :grouphug:
xx0 -
Oh now, thats an interesting thought. I don't go along with huge detail on that or any other alternative way of being but the basics of that are really interesting. I wonder .... as an astronomer ... as the moon is waning, is it always in the same place relative to earth and the sun? Daily tides are caused by the moon, it would be crazy to think that its longer cycles didn't affect us .... thanks Lula, I shall give that some thought.
All iffy hugs happily welcomed!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm not particularly 'alternative' - have you seen how many shoes I've bought this year
& I like my girl stuff - but as you say, the basics ie eating & shopping seasonally & locally, not overusing valuable resources & making use of what's available around us rather than always buying stuff. Much as I love technology I do think we often make our lives more complicated & difficult by trying to override nature & sometimes it's good just to take a step back & think about why people used to live a certain way in the past.
Oooh - didnt know you were an astronomer *intrigued & impressed*0 -
Never a professional one, sadly .... but about 8 years ago, I took a distance learning diploma from the University of Central Lancashire - it equates to about a quarter of the first year of an undergraduate course :rotfl: and it got harder and harder and harder. Brilliant to pass it tho!
You're right about using what's around us ... I always think that when a basic idea is right, it then gets embroidered and embroidered and embroidered, so it becomes completely artificial.
And I love stepping back and thinking why people used to do things a certain way, and how differently we do it now ....
Talking about using resources we already have - I just bought the DVD tower for my kitchen and a freeview set top box - sadly, both are from Tesco, but in your earth money, they cost me £11.97 delivered for the pair - thanks to clubcard. I could have used the vouchers more efficiently in another way, maybe, but it wouldn't have been real efficiency, because these are the things I *wanted*.

Nope. The illumination of the moon is just the reflection of the sun, so (assuming you're standing on the earth facing the direction the sun just went down)- when the moon is full, it's behind you
- When there is a quarter moon, it is at 90 degrees to you
- When its a new moon, it's between you and the sun (so you effectively see its unlit backside)
- When it's a blood moon, it's in the Earth's shadow
As it shifts between those positions, you get the waxings and the wanings.
This is pretty good software if you're interested: http://www.shatters.net/celestia/Daily tides are caused by the moon, it would be crazy to think that its longer cycles didn't affect us .... thanks Lula, I shall give that some thought.
It was found - a long time ago - that the inmates of asylums were affected by lunar cycles, becoming more active around the full moon - it is where the word lunatics comes from. All iffy hugs happily welcomed!

Oh KC! I've just read your post from earlier about the tea and being ill overnight - poor you! You do sound like you're come back from it fairly well though, which I think suggests that your strength is beginning to return fully.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hope you're feeling better after you dairy disaster. My DS is not allergic to dairy, but insensitive to it, so can eat small amounts eg. occasional pizza, but not too much or he suffers, or it builds up in his system or something.
I can't believe your new laptop is still not set up. I'd have started using it and moved stuff over gradually.
Take care

I think I'm probably the same - I certainly ate "too much" in those terms!

Its beeyootiful, for sure - and it will speed up my browsing tremendously when I start to use it regularly. But the real reason for buying it is so that I can trade properly, nothing else, the rest is flim flam. I'm not well enough to do that, and I'm not really well enough to go through the faff of setting it up - not only the cheese thing, but the leftover virus/infection thing, whatever it is (I found a herbalist today) and also the constant pain from my clavicle, which radiates tension and discomfort over the rest of me
You have a pm, by the way - or rather, you're about to have one.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
