Thanks EH! I was very sorry for myself this morningbut I was also very aware it was completely my own fault. I have come back from it, thank you, strength is up and down but generally on the increase. Lets think positive!

Hi Z!Nope. The illumination of the moon is just the reflection of the sun, so (assuming you're standing on the earth facing the direction the sun just went down)
- when the moon is full, it's behind you
- When there is a quarter moon, it is at 90 degrees to you
- When its a new moon, it's between you and the sun (so you effectively see its unlit backside)
- When it's a blood moon, it's in the Earth's shadow
As it shifts between those positions, you get the waxings and the wanings.
Erm, then the moon *is* "always in the same place relative to earth and the sun" when its waxing, or waning, or whatever. Ahem, thats what I meant to say - it *nearly* came out right :rotfl:
This is pretty good software if you're interested: http://www.shatters.net/celestia/
I'll have a look at that, ta!
It was found - a long time ago - that the inmates of asylums were affected by lunar cycles, becoming more active around the full moon - it is where the word lunatics comes from.
:grouphug:
Thanks for the dodgy hug
Nice quiet evening, went out for a 15 minute walk and did some deep breathing - our lymph system needs the massaging that deep breathing gives it, apparently .... and sat here more or less ever since, oops. Very quick 10m round the boards, then bed, I think.

It's not in the same place - when it's new, it's closer to the sun than the earth is (which is how solar eclipses work) and when it's full, it's further away from the sun than the earth is. Its orbit is orthogonal to the earths orbit.

Z, I'm still not being clear enough - I'm *sure* we're saying the same thing (of course, even when I'm "*sure*", I can be wrong). It doesn't really matter .... but it does give me another reason to get the other lappy up and running, I don't dare download any more software onto this one, it would, well, explode.
Right. I'm ker-nackered, so I'm orf.... sleep well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

It just means (in this context at least) at a right-angle.
Though it's not strictly true as it's canted a bit.
A bit like the Tower of Pisa is orthogonal to the ground. Ish..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Orthogonal-ish. I love it
I have discovered the real reason for feeling ill - I'm allergic to work
I slept much better, tho, and I *am* going to London, tho I'm not doing anything else until Sunday evening, got one of our famed (to us) games evenings. Tomorrow, I'm waiting in for my freeview box! Also waiting in next Friday, for my dvd tower that will house kitchen goods, very exciting, as sorting the storage means I can sort the living room - thats all I can think about at the moment, that and getting well.
Hope everyone has a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Sorry you're still feeling rotten and bored KC
But don't go beating yourself up over a little bit of cheese! That won't help your mental state at all! Pah to the cup of tea - obviously the week for it, after my sugar/yogurt disaster the other day
Look after yourself xx

Exciting getting lots of things delivered
It is! Feels like things are on their way again. I might have to employ the builders to do the painting in the new loo, tho, its the only way its going to get done.Cheery_Daff wrote: »Sorry you're still feeling rotten and bored KCBut don't go beating yourself up over a little bit of cheese! I won't, I promise - when the attack is that acute, tho, and entirely avoidable, its important to take note that it was *self* sabotageThe cup of tea, while frustrating at the time, was downright silly :rotfl:tho not quite as wonderfully silly as your sugar/yogurt disaster :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that was brilliant :j sorry :rotfl:
