Karma...you've just reminded me about accounts must get them up to date ..good luck with yours.
nice to know you've met your neighbours and good luck with the cleaning ...the bi carb does work as I use that on my carpets and I have a dog..loads better for the dog as shake and vac etc gives most dogs skin reactions

my accounts aren't too bad just the last 10 days to write up...mine went in months ago.
hopefully you'll get them finished today.

You are *so* good with your accounts - and here's me stuck on 08/09  not done anything since I last posted, had to work, and I've had my sister round - she takes precedence over accounts any day :D

I am *totally* with you on this - laptop, ensuite, meals cooked for me, nice stuff just outside the door. Yep.

KC have you thought of hiring one of those semi-professional carpet cleaners, but if you don't have a car, it could be worth getting a quote for someone to come out and do them. The only problem is you need to let the carpets dry out thoroughly, so windows open, which is OK in the summer, but not so good now. But the professional machines are pretty powerful, so they suck a lot of the moisture out. Anyway it costs nothing normally to get a quote for carpet cleaning, especially if you've got room sizes at the ready for on the phone when calling.

I have, se, you're right - I'll try the bicarb first, see what that does, and if it doesn't shift, I'll hire a wet vac or whatever they're called :) I have a trolley thing, or I can bring it home in a taxi - hiring someone to *do* it would be a lot more expensive than the hire, I think, tho I'm not sure. I'll certainly cost it.

KC, those cleaners that you hire are reasonably price, but quite hard work. But they definitely do the job.

Enjoy your hoovering, you can always put some essential oil in a container with the bicarb, and then shake it as if you're in that advert.

Hi Pippi ... erm .... you're right I do :o:o:o its a wallpaper stripper, but the big flat plate that you put to the wall is perfectly okay to lay down on carpet .... sometimes I surprise myself with how dozy I am :o:o:o and then my friends come to my aid and all is well with the world :j:j:j thank you for this

Had another "ooh, isn't this lovely" moment this morning, though it did follow hard on the heels of "good grief, I've really got to get going to make enough money for a pension"..... but I have to get well first - I've had to cancel *three* things today, I could only have done two at the most, but I'm really peeved about it.

Still .... I was wandering about the house in grateful mode, and I counted a total of 16 spaces where I could get lots more efficiency in terms of storage space .... I need either the building work finished or more health for most of them, but there's one I can do without too much trouble this weekend, which is to clean out the floor of the airing cupboard, now I have a working vacuum cleaner, spray antibac all over it, and get some of my spare vinyl down there, then pack it properly. Stuff will still have to come out so I can paint the new door and its edging, but thats okay. The more stuff gets packed away, the more space I have that I can see how to use. Which will help me with things like not forgetting I have a wallpaper stripper :rotfl:

  • Really good idea about the wallpaper stripper, I didn't know you could use them for carpets.

Good luck with the storage space search.
