:rotfl:I think of it as interesting in that sense too, tbh! As a teenager, if I'd had to name my favourite Beatle, it would've been Paul, cos he was the most fanciable :D as an adult, its John. One of the best songs Paul ever wrote was about John, after he'd died.. Here Today.

Going to see him is something from my sister - my choice would be Joan Baez or someone - but I did find Here Today on youtube, bless them:

Have a listen, I think its up on a par with Yesterday.

And its kind of appropriate for today, as I've just got back from the funeral. which was kind of Quaker humanist - no minister, no ceremony except some words spoken during the commital, just people standing up and saying something. It was lovely, very pure, very real.

Trouble for me, being the brain-exploding, self-involved type of person I am, it was outside. Completely. In full sun. Which meant that while we were waiting I hid my arms behind my back, and had my nose to the floor to try to keep out of the sun - I've still come back with a fairly intense tan on those bits, tho fortunately no burning.

Still, I'm very glad I went.

Thats a good description, El. I slathered some cream on as I came in, but I'll put more on before I need to work. A use for those aloe vera leaves!

You can, Taxi, absolutely. The place opened almost exactly a year ago, and they've had a really good response. The only tweak I'd make is to think about using the area that can be tented against the summer sun, as well as against the rain. If I hadn't been actively hiding my arms and face, I would've been severely burnt, we were out in the sun for almost 1.5 hours, and even this morning the latest lot of body lotion has sunk into my arms within a few seconds.

"Lovely", by the way, is the response we got last year to my brother in law's wake, tho his funeral was more conventional. This one was stark, but very beautiful.

I've only been to one humanist funeral, but it was the most emotional one (other than my Dad's of course) that I have ever been to.

Good luck at the docs, and enjoy your weekend - sounds fab!

This morning, I'm in kind of angry mood, to be honest - about pensions, of all things. Ten years ago, a woman my age would have been less than 5 years away from retirement. Come forward to the present day, and I'm looking at just over ten years till I can retire. In the meantime six men at the top of the Network Rail tree get *yearly* bonuses totalling over £2 million. Martin's logo of "consumer revenge" has never seemed so apt.

I'm feeling very scouse today, which wouldn't get past the censoring programme, so I'll content myself with saying this: I'm fed up with playing small. Now I'm debt free, I'm going to join the monthly challenges for £10 a day again, I'm going to push forward at clearing my *life* of clutter, not just the house, and I'm going to take the money thats on offer via the trading, and I'm going to [strike]change[/strike] improve the luck I'm making for myself. I've not done badly - I'm going to do a hell of a lot more. I'm simply not putting up with this any longer.

    So there, world HSprincess1.gif
