Access was one of the things that I felt was really important - I feel *so* cut off where I am. I know you told me where you are, duchy, but I can't remember
Surrey, and a village or so along from the main railway line into London? Is that anywhere near the mark?

They do, don't they - and there's a lot of wildlife round there, because there are so many green areas and its such a small townThe only thing extra I'm going to do on that side is to plant a few things that like light shade, cos thats the northerly facing side of the garden and they won't get as much sun - things like **consults email, taken from notes during The Edible Garden, mostly**
Swiss chard - easy, tolerates shade, but needs rich soil.
parsley
angelica
lettuce
mangetout
poppies
I didn't see SpringwatchI don't like it when things die
