Hmmm......very clear signals at 9 and 9.10 that I missed - I was taking a break, all the little freakouts on the markets were getting to me - I should've walked away at the time, instead of trying to puzzle it out and tiring myself out. I've also shut down one of the things that I watch - I watch 3, and its simply too many.

Weird, really - I've been thinking I'm prepared to trade for **ages** now, but my level of concentration was obviously not there. I'm concentrating much better now, *expecting* to trade, and tho I'm missing them at the time, I can feel how different it is from the past :o

*ignoring* trading posts I don't understand - but sending out good trading vibes.....

Foraging - up here I'd probably die of starvation (or is that me being pessimistic!) unless I ate grass or heather in which case I'd be OK.

We've identified road verges here as a good habitat to let 'go wild' I spent a summer helping with grading various verges from 1-5 (one being wow amazing wildflowers etc and 5 being infested with docks etc) - the council now only cut the 'really bad' verges and leave the pretty ones - great habitat for bees and alike.

More wild areas would be good - sadly here its either moorland or 'silage deserts' (improved grass fields) as grass production is in full pelt - (there is more diversity to the local habitat than that of course but not much!) - Did I mention that I hate grass? (Sorry grass but I just do)

    Waves a sleepy hello.

Hi sleepy one :) thinking about the Scottish islands when I see them on Time Team - yes, I can understand death by starvation if you tried it there! But I'm in the soft south, and Squirrel is partway between us :)

Question on plants, Fay. A cousin of mine gave me tree onions a while back, and I'm sure they've naturalised in my garden and miniaturised too, come to that - I'm going to take some with me, do you know anything about how to make sure they group and stay big, apart from nutrition and replanting and whatnot?

Tree onions - love them! Lots of organic matter me thinks is the key with those hungry monsters.................

Can you pot them into a decent sized pot with a decent amount of feed/organic matter?

I've just collected last years bulbs from mine and am thinking about planting them up - bit of a coincidence!

I do miss hedgerows, woods etc etc - lucky you and lucky Squirrel :)

Aww Fay, I feel like sending you a 'wild food parcel' of wild garlic etc! Although picking it is part of the fun of course. Still you do live in a beautiful part of the world :)

Ah! That explains it - very poor nutrition in this soil - the white cliffs of Dover are 4" underneath me!

    Yep!

So in tune :kisses3:actually I feel like Alys - at the end of the programme, when she talks about a recipe, she'll mention some herb she's never talked about before. Thats me :j

Very much so. Tho my favourite countryside is still moors - once we had a car during my childhood, we went to North Wales (sans motorways from Liverpool! It took forever) and it was so beautiful, it always stays with me. Some areas of Sussex are a bit *too* pretty.

She does at that! And the biodiversity our Fay is creating is a wonderful thing :j

Am loving all this gardening talk on your thread as I'm learning stuff...going to start my own garden off.

The trading I don't understand anything about that...

Hope you're having a good day.

I bet its tiring, el - I'm feeling exhausted myself between construction work next door and trying to sell and buy, and two estate agents quarrelling over my purchase :(
For everyone - please, please, ignore the trading posts, thats why I headline them, I'm serious about passing right on by - I don't want them to put anyone off coming to my thread. In fact, I think what I'll do is use the first post on the previous page, then it really does make it just a note for me, and I can see the progress :D

Done a yougov survey - they're very short nowadays, and they're 50p, so I'm happy with that :D Also listed 3 books on amazon and put a dozen more in the charity bag - now I'm thinking in that mode "do I want to pay to move this book to my new address, AND have it cluttering up the (smaller) house" - the answer is often NO :D:D:D
