I agree with "knowing" that the house is right/wrong for you in the first few minutes.

I never peel potatoes - we always eat them with the skins on - boiled, mashed etc - worth trying non-peeled spuds?

Another non spud peeler here. I read somewhere most of the goodness is just under the skin anyway.

Good luck with the house hunting, we've got to start again in earnest soon, ready for when we get back and can do viewings.

Hugs to you, turfy, hope that bug gets lost very soon.

I don't know whether I'm coming or going!

finding a place in HH - the little one was too small. Kitchen/diner/hallway are all in one, with no garage and two beds, its just not big enough.
Believe it or not, the front runner is now "the big one", as we were calling it a few pages back. Plus a littler one on the other side of the station.

selling this place - I have a viewing tomorrow, and another one on Saturday, and another I couldn't confirm because I have a client! Coo!

result is: I won't be on here very much! Got to get it back into estate agent land, and it doesn't take much to fall away from that!

Bye for now, and to say again, I can't thank you all enough for your help with this.

WOW..3 viewings great ...it may sell pretty quick.

Have you registered at all estate agents in HH..so that you don't miss out on any properties.?

Hope you can find something that you really fall in love with.

Oopsie - my sister asked me exactly the same question today, Taxi, and I had to confess I hadn't - thing is, they're all registered with one of the three big sites - rightmove, gobrix and the other one ..... I am registering slowly, but trouble is, I'm not a normal target market, and in addition they simply don't listen to the geographical limit I've put on. And quite a few are a bit funny about ringing back, and putting you off the property, they're very odd. I think they must be snowed under, which is *sort of* a good sign ......

I won't be on tomorrow till heaven knows when - I've got some paid work at 11, then the viewing of this place is at 1.15, so I'll be rushing about all over the place.

The "big" property, by the way - its on at £235, it "only" has 2 toilets, not 3 - and the "in need of modernisation" refers to an avocado bathroom suite, and to the kitchen, not to hacking central heating pipes into the wall and renewing the boiler and the plaster like in my present house. There's no back garden, only a courtyard, and a small front garden (smaller than my present one. And flat). So I think £10k will do, which means financially its still a contender.

And on that note, ladies and gents, I will disappear for the evening. Hope everyone is safe and well and enjoying some nice weather.

    Good luck with the viewings!

As regards registering with other agents for potential houses to buy - it is an absolute MUST.

No point in waiting for properties to appear on Rightmove etc.....what happens when a couple come into the agents office, say that they have outgrown their lovely two bed house and want to sell........the EA will know (if you have registered with them and impressed that you have active interest in your own property) that there is a buyer out there almost "ready to go" so will pick up the phone to you and say "Ms KC, we've just had a property come on our books, its not even on the web yet, but is perfect for you, would you like to view this afternoon".

How will they do that, if you are only looking online......hmmm.....hmmm.....!

So, if they don't listen to what you want, tell them again. and again if needs be. You don't want to miss out on that perfect property!

Thanks Hypno..you've just saved me typing a very similar post. That is exactly the reason I was asking.
If the market is very active the properties may not get as far as the internet.

Good luck with your viewings today.
