Hi KC, sympathy for the phone call ...

I am frequently deemed to be 'available' for whatever is needed as I too am single & apparently this means that I, or my time appears to be less 'valid' than my married siblings

The fact that I also work & have a child to raise as well as a home & garden to maintain single handed while the siblings have no children & other adults to help out is irrelevant, of course :rotfl:

kc i sympathise with your mother issues ...sending big hugs your way...and i am glad you are giving it some thought about maybe not supporting her if her health deteriates...just thinking is enough for now no decision has to be made just now

:kisses3:Thank you all so much! It really helped to be able to write it out on here. I took that little walk, watched Legally Blonde - which is actually "to thine own self be true" in ditzy clothing - got a proper sleep - even watched part of a Stargate DVD this morning - like I was saying (or did I just think it ) yesterday, I am very, very lucky to be able to suddenly do that and still not have to cancel work - work today is midday till six, and earns well over my minimum daily ....

But without knowing Good People like you guys, none of that would matter.

    Thank you :A:A:A:A

Morning all .... well, I've decided I'm going to go do my London work - so its a normal "getting back at midnight" thing. Which means I'm going to take it *really* easy this morning.

Other thing is, now my mortgage is online, I've been checking the daily total - the last two overpayments I made, I asked for them to be applied to reducing the monthly total outstanding, rather than reducing the monthly repayment - my interest only mortgage (I *do* have a repayment vehicle, which will fall short by thousands) - anyway, my interest only mortgage now reduces, all on its own, by £3.54 each month :rotfl: Go me!

    Every little helps KC.
And if you calculate it, how much does it bring your MF date forward if you continue at that pace? A month? :rotfl:

    Wow, Olive oyl

Just seen your signature. How did you reduce your debt so quickly in just 2 years. Must have a read of your diary later. Good for you!

Also well done Karmakat with your mtge overpayts. I did that for a time some 7 years ago or so. It felt good to do, and i look forward to the day when i will again. Tackle the cc debt first for me! Well done!
My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
May 2013 £124,080.27= £37,903.50 paid off WOW!!!!! Well done! There is a guardian angel out there! :AI'm visualising success, debt freeness, and happy days!:T

I can sum up my debt reduction method thus:

    1) Stop spending (we have good incomes, and what was considered "manageable debt" it was just not going away.)
    2) Send OH abroad to earn more money, and the pair of us live frugally (not counting the flights )

Being Positive & Focused seems as good method as any. I get masses of ideas from Hypnos diary, What small things thread and the OS board.

And I sold all the half finished projects that Popeye and various kids had started :rotfl::rotfl: -2 cars, a boat and a childhood collection of Dinky toys :rotfl:

    KK take care in London

And well done on the reducing the mortgage bit - it all helps eh?

I watched legally blonde too - so we were all at a 'virtual girlie movie together'.

Olive I love the 'send OH abroad to work and live frugally bit' :) (did he know you sold all his projects......:) - I am sure he did!) sounds liek a plan. I sent myself over the sea to live frugally and educate kids (only the pentland firth not far far away like Popeye) and left OH to live on his own (good salary where he is unfortuately) to try and reduce his outgoings.....he's beginning to get it.

I may have asked you this before (KK sorry for hijackign your diary :)) but how do you stay so positive and focussed?

I find I lose the plot easily sometimes and can't see the future easily....x
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:
  • I'm carp at it Fay. :o
When the blues hit, and I feel incapable I seem to stop posting and spend my time reading the diaries instead.

There are some peeps on here that post replies to peoples rants and wails and their posts are perfectly formed and perfectly supportive (KC does, so does Hypno) and they say the most helpful of phrases. I wish I could be so eloquent. Their posts keep me sane and lift my spirits when I'm struggling.

So I'm not P&F, but I'd like to be :p
