ITC Legal Services - Avoid Them
Comments

Hi nl1enrique
Contact The Law Society, ITC may not be regulated, but the Law Society are taking an interest in them.
Extract from The Law Society Website.
We invited the chief executive from ITC Legal Services and a representative from the Bereavement Advice Centre to attend our September committee meeting to discuss members’ concerns about the leaflets included with the death registration packs. Unfortunately, they could not attend. I have been inundated with emails and letters regarding this, and we are taking members’ concerns very seriously.

Well thank goodness for MSE
we had a meeting today with an ITC representative who gave us the wonderful talk on how they could help sort out a will for a fixed fee and we thought how lovely it would be for someone else to take some of the stress out of a very unhappy situation. Luckily we signed nothing and told the chap we wanted to have a talk with the beneficiaries of the will before we agreed to anything, and then after he had left we googled ITC.
I didn't like the fact that the pack they gave us containing the term and contitions etc, had no company info whatsoever. All the legal companies I know of contain a citizens charter of some sort but ITC....nothing!
I have to say how disgusted we are that Barclays have given all our relative's account details to a third party that is unregulated! Needless to say we wont be using ITCs services, nor Barclays (ever again) for that matter!!
Out of all the threads I've frequented (under another name) this is probably the thread that will have saved us the most money and stress by the sound of it.
Thanks guys.0 -

Can any one help me. I have thrown out the ITC paperwork and would like to know what it says about an interim loan they can give you as i am sure it involves borrowing our own money with interest charges added. We have been told we can get 8o% with no interest added.Just cant see this myself with this company.
If anyone could look it up for me it would be much appreciated0 -

I am working from memory, but I (and my wife) believe that they charge you a "fixed fee" of £250 to get an advance of your own inheritance. This is supposedly an admin charge but I think it is more likely to be to offset the interest that they would lose (which they say they don't receive in the first place!).
Just bear in mind that the ITC version of a "fixed fee" may not turn out to be quite what you think it is!!
I was planning to take an advance because of the length of time that ITC were taking to process probate, but it was cheaper to go to my bank and get a personal loan!Note to Self: When posting, remember to keep within "forum rules" to avoid upsetting other "interested parties"0 -
Thanks for replying so quickly0

:oHow I wish I could have seem these posts before I signed up with ITC. I too was recommended to them by the Local Registry Office when registering my father's death. I agreed to ITC because I reside in Australia and obviously I needed a UK contact to complete Probate of transferring my father's only assest being his bank account balance to my mum. I have been complaining since July 2009 and wrote to the CEO at head office and after 11 months of a simple probate quoted by ITC rep I received a phone call last night asking for more information!
I too am under the belief that I only pay a standard fee. I am now very worried about the final bill! I will be doing my very best to let everyone in Stoke-on-Trent know not to use ITC and I can use the info from this website. I will be writing to mum's local MP and the local papers.
Hopefully, soon we will be stress free of ITC!0 -

Sorry to hear that you too, along with so many others have had to deal with this awful company. Do all you can to let everyone know about the immoral practices ITC carry out. This forum is spreading the word and the more that ITC are revealed the more chance of some action being taken by greater powers than us.0
