  • Well I'll put them down but the company no longer exsists because they closed down hahaha.

Buttons- I do quite a bit of recruiting for hospitality type rolls and it cetainly wouldn't put me off that someone had been a SAHM for x years. Definitely put at least one character reference though- someone like a teacher or professional is ideal. I've used my in-laws in the past when I've needed a character reference (as long as the name is different). Just say it's a family friend.

  • 3 - I got married 1st time in gretna ( although a very long time ago) sure you will have a lovely day :)
Ruby spent last nite in her big girls bed.... on monday she climbed out of her cot times ( monkey child) so we thought it would be safer. She fell out once then slept until 6 this morning which is great for her. I put a duvet under neath and its a cot bed so practically on the floor anyway :)

so it looks like i failed at keeping up with the thread or posting regularly, Austin hit his 6 week growth spurt with a vengence and is feeding almost constantly, just when i thought we were getting somewhere with feeding patterns....sigh!

I am starting to worry a little because the last 2 nights he's been on the breast for an hour and a half, draining both sides twice and getting very frustrated and crying because he's obviously not getting quite enough....it's very demoralising, how long does this growth spurt last? We must have been doing this on and off for about a week, he's waking more at night as well.... :(

How was the 6 week growth spurt for you all? i think i just need some reassurance!
  • hypno i cant reassure you as at 5 weeks i went on to FF hope your ok x

  • Hypno - LOs 6 week hungry phase lasted about 2 days, but that was from the time I increased his EBM. It took me 4 days for my production to catch up with him. It does get much easier. My advice is to get important jobs done early in the day then relax with a nursing cushion, get the remote and spend the evening on the sofa. The rest is good for you!

Hypno, my recollection is that it lasted several days, maybe a week, for us; and at first my OH was in similar situation to you. I'm sure what the BF gurus on this thread will say is that you should just take every possible opportunity to feed, both to satisfy him and to stimulate yourself into increased milk production, which will then make it easier to keep satisfying him!

Very frustrating time though - good luck, but it should only be a day or two before your supply matches his need one way or another!

Working from home today; silly baby got put down for his nap basically completely asleep. All well for 2 minutes then a loud motorbike went by and he started crying. We waited to see if he'd settle, he grinched for a bit then progressed to cheery babbling. 45 minutes later he is still in his cot, in a dark room, sporadically babbling to himself. He really seemed very tired! He is very silly!

    Hello all,

could I ask for some advice again please? I've been to see the midwife this morning (I'm 40+1) and bubs has still not started to engage - she thinks maybe the little one needs to flex their head down, and has advised using a gym ball which I have already been doing. Also had an exam and showing as unfavourable for labour. They're already thinking of maybe booking induction at appointment next week (for as late as possible, which would be another 13 days from today).

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get the little one moving? If you don't want to take up space on the main thread please PM me - I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any ideas. :)
