  • I can't belive I havent found this thread before  I haven't read it all but hope u don't mind jumping in!

I have a DS who was 2 on aug 22. He is currently having a nap! :D

He is generally a good fellow - he doesn't speak yet much only few odd words and even then only when he feels like it. All health people keep saying why doesnt he talk blah blah blah, they checked his hearing and said its fine so he must just be a lazy boy. That was about 6 months ago. Now they keep mentioning it but not actually doing anything?

I'm not overally worried as a)all children are different b)im trying to encourage him but I don't want to push him too much! They make you feel like poo about it though don't they???? ;)

Anyone have any experience of this?????

My friend's little girl has some kind of mongolian birth marks. They look like thumbs prints, one on each arm. A blue-ish colour. She is Chinese - and also very cute!

Welcome Babyhead. A girl I worked with had this with her DS. He didn't talk until nearly three and then all of a sudden was talking in sentences. He'd been listening and thinking all that time and just decided one day he would talk. I think she encouraged him and started refusing to respond to his pointing and other tactics. She made him say the words she knew he could, "juice", "plate", "biscuit". That kind of thing.

I hate that the health people would make you feel bad. A lot of Imogen's friends (who have gone two in Feb/March) are only just putting a few words together, so it doesn't sound that unusual to me?

If it helps babyhead, I can't remember DD speaking very much at 2, she said words obviously, but nothing that others could understand but me, except the usual mum/dad/juice. That was about it!

Keira has a weird birthmark, on her back around the hip area, it's like a big white paint splodge. Stands out from the rest of her skin colour.

Really can't see me hanging aroun with that chick anymore, she's too effing weird. She does big theatrical laughs in the middle of stores at things that aren't even funny? She even puts her hand to her throat like a "Gracious me" gesture? It's freaking me out. She also cuts down and dismembers anything I say, like no no that's wrong blah blah, I point to a colour and no its not JUST BLUE it's COLBALT BLUE or whatever!

She told me Keira has OH skin colouring? Erm what a thing to come up in a convo?
  • Hi Babyhead,,,welcome,,,

you are so right every child is different and does things at different stages,,,
