  • There we go, pumping by hand is far better than that crappy pump - 100ml or so :)

Now to do some farming and get on with this job aplication. And maybe have a nap. The [strike]housework[/strike]world is my oyster. So long as I don't want to go out before this delivery comes anyway... although knowing my luck they probably came at 8:01 when I was out, or will turn up when I have to go help DH collect from nursery later. When I go back to work I will be dropping off and he will be collecting, but I have to go with him today as they've not met him yet :)

    Happy Birthday Elliot.

Pants sleep last night, LO wouldnt go to sleep and was then coughing for ages and waking himslef up so gave in and brought him into my bed. Then he was fidgeting all night and then this morning didnt want to wake up...
Dropped him at my mums and he was balling his eyes out.... Bodes well for my train trip to York on Saturday with OH and for possible weekend away in Oct!!!!

For mums with slightly older LO's have any of them got pillows yet ? he was much better when leaning on OH's pillow......

DS2 had a pillow from about 10 months old due to constant coughs and colds (he has a weak chest due to the CP). It definitely helped when he was coughing. I used to put it under the sheet in the cot so he couldn't wriggle under it. That and olbas oil or karvol oil on a teddy next to the cot/bed where he couldn't grab it.

    Hello Maz :D
they're 'allowed' a pillow and duvet from 12mths, we got Chris his when we took the sides off the cot I think (earlier this year) we got ours from ikea because the duvet is the right size for a cotbed and the covers come with a pillowcase to fit their smaller pillows. We've had no problems but Chris can sleep anywhere including hanging off the side of the bed head first :rotfl:

I think Chris had a nightmare after last nights scare because he got in with us at some point in the wee small hours, poor baby

    Happy Birthday Elliot!

So very very tired this morning. Kept waking up throughout the night, had awful dreams too, I remember one was we were in a house, and all of a sudden it flooded, and it was so deep we were having to swim but then I couldn't see Keira and saw her down at the bottom, eck....

I hate bad dreams! Took me forever to settle after that.

Keira has now got a boufing cough, as do I. Hate hearing her in pain.

The vet did get back to me, it was a mistake charging me the extra £10 (knew it!) so I just told her to order me in some of the hills indoor neutered biscuits, can't get it anywhere else, and I'll just need to add a quid or so.

He has not calmed down AT ALL, within 2hours of being home he was running across walls, karate kicking the other cat, and being a general pain in the bum.
He didn't have a problem with his anal glands, the vet said he must of just had an itchy bum, better not of left bum crumbs across my carpet when he was doing that.

Just caught him about 5minutes ago, doing laps of the living room whilst scooting his bum, turns out he had one of the clear plastic things that your straws come in, you know on a capri sun? Well he had one of those stuck to his bum and couldn't get it off, lmao

morning sami, awww poor christopher, bless :)

Fritha are you free? Can I ask a spot of slingy advice?

We were leant 3 slings and tried them all with fergus as well as a fabric wrap.

    Tomy safari
    Kelty Kangaroo
baby bjorn 8 yrs old but similar to current 'classic' style

of all 4, we found the baby bjorn by far the easiest and most comfortable. Also much more easily adjusted to parent height (there's nearly a foot difference between me and DH:rotfl:).

Sadly we've had to return the baby bjorn :( but we think something very like it would be excellent for next baby. Are there others which are similar I can look at? Is there a sling meet website saying if there are any in Cardiff?

    TIA for your thoughts :)

Others with sling opinions please chip in too :)

  • Talking of rods for backs and self-settling. Those who fed/nursed babies to sleep, when did it become a problem for you? LO is 5 months old and I still nurse him to sleep whenever he wants, and have no problem with doing so. My Mum loves it, because I let her rock him to sleep. When might I get fed up doing this, or will I not?

Feely, I don't know much about BF, but I'd say if it's not a rod for your back, then stick with it, that's great :) I think maybe what is a rod for our backs is more to do with the type of parent we are IYSWIM? and you've said before that AP really suits you and Tobes. I think it sounds like it's all working well between you :D.

How you feeling at the mo BTW? Less anxious?

    xxx

I'm medication free and planning on staying that way. Had a few thoughtful days and had a think back to what worked in the past. Diet, exercise, sunlight, socialising and sleep are the main things which I can use to manage my depression/anxiety, so I'm working hard on them. Going out at least twice a week, exercising daily, eating well and getting to bed early. Hopefully can get myself back to a 'normal' level, and maintain that for a few months. Due to start Pyscotherapy in a few months so need to be healthy for that.
