Happy Birthday to my little man!
thanks for the birthday wishes!
(funny enough he woke up just before the time he was born early this morning!)

Happy birthday elliot.
OH and I have been quite 'strict' with Ry-Ry's routine, we had a little blip when OH left but it's all ironed out now.
We kept him awake as much as possible during the day from birth and have never had a sleepless night apart from when he was ill for about 5 days.
He is very predictable in his eat/sleep pattern, and is totally adaptable when we go out, he will still come home and settle straight down no matter what time it is, I'm so glad because I had real bad problems with lack of sleep with Aston, it pushed me over the edge.
I cant be doing with the whole rocking to sleep business either, it just doesn't happen, saying that though it may of been a different story if I was on me own lol:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

For mums with slightly older LO's have any of them got pillows yet ? he was much better when leaning on OH's pillow......
Hiya Maz,
I thought the risk with pillows was of suffocation, so when fergie can't breathe we prop up the end of his mattress from underneath IYSWIM?
Happy birthday Elliot

Hey,
I've finally decided it's time to brave the parent thread!
Has anyone got any experience of reflux, we're on baby gaviscon at the moment but I'm not sure how much good its doing....
seth has reflux and we use gaviscon for him, at first it didnt really do a lot other than stop the constant flow that would come from his mouth when we laid him down  but as he has got older it has got a lot better. i do think he should have had something more for it but the doctor was an !!!! about it and told me the nhs dont prescribe drugs to help with an overflowing laundry basket, but thats another story
anyway, once he had been on it for 6 weeks, he had jumped from low down on the 25th percentile to the middle of the 75th so it must have worked quite well
just keep an eye on LO's weight and if you dont see an increase in it then go back to the doc and dig your heels in, mummy knows bestlil_miss_06 wrote: »Probably the bit of advice in baby whisperer that seemed to help us the most was that we used to deliberately put Fergus down awake at night, with dummy. If he then woke, he could resettle cos it wasn't an unfamiliar environment. I know this doesn't work for some babiesbut it did for him, and if I hadn't read that I would probably have let him drift off on us, gently transferred him, and made a bit of a rod for my back! i would advise any new mum to do that, and if i ever had another i definitely would. the MWs and HVs kept telling us we should but we never did, and we have had SO many problems with seths sleeping and self settling
I have a teeny 1 cm patch of this at my hair-line, but I think this is because I nipped the hair loss in the bud by getting PG again when it was just starting to fall! Oh my word, next may I'm gonna look like a dominican monk! :rotfl:i have 2 fringes!! my normal one and a tiny one!!
Fergus has a cold and was really struggling in the nightHe's also finding milk difficult cos he can't breathe through his nose! So he has to feed in teeny mouthfuls sat upright! when seth had his cold we had to syringe feed him
i never want him to be ill again, none of us slept for 3 days and i dont know who cried more, me or seth
Oh and I am 10 days away from the start of magic timester2! You know the one where you stop falling asleep stood up, feeling pukey and suddenly look beautiful with boundless energy? Bring it on! :j:j:jhate to break this to you weezl, but mine lasted all of 3 weeks :rotfl:
seth didnt sleep too bad last night, two feeds but dropped straight off afterits OH's snoring thats keeping me awake!!
going to ring round nurseries todaygoing to see if theres one that will take seth one day a week  i'm going to go back 3 days a week, OH will have seth one day, MIL will have him another day and then he can have nursery one day. i can cope with that, he gets some interaction with other children that way, and a little educational care, and i still get to spend over half the week with my little man. the other option is to work both OHs days off, but i think family time is important so i wont do that unless i absolutely have to.
oh, and i've just ordered some magic knickers from the m&s sale :rotfl: bridget jones eat your heart out!!!Mummy to

oh i forgot to say - we used the baby whisperer, a special angel fairy winged it to me
we used it for about a week and it worked really well, but all went out the window when we started weaning. for that week he was lovely and relaxed and it cut the endless crying we'd had before that right down
the fairies would be happy to pass it on if someone was in need :AMummy to
