Stop filming? Heck, they wanted to film my section - and got told a very firm No :rotfl:

They came back about 4 days after the birth (on my invitation), filmed me & Marley talking about how it had gone and how we felt now, took some footage of Andrew in SCBU, and the NeoNatal Consultant offered to talk to them on camera about the problems with very premature babies. We then had to stop filming rather abruptly as my section wound decided to flood the floor of SCBU :o

They're holding back at the moment (the presenter had her daughter just over a week ago), but I will see if they want to do a final filming session shortly, now that life has settled down.

Yay.. In the nicest possible way, I can't wait to see :D Was it early next year, you said? :)
  • What are they filming you for tigs? I think I missed that post lol...

Thanks girls. Do get the shooting pain that goes straight through my nipple to my ribs as well but at random times. Not just after a feed, but sometimes hours after. We're on nystatin for him, a derivative cream for me and fluconazole. Courses finish tomorrow but the shooting pain's back again today, so don't think we're there yet. pops off to drink an actimel

Yay to a poopy Fergie! Fingers crossed it continues!!

Fabulous news Tigs on your cuddles with Andrew. I bet it was brilliant.

Well done Caz on the job!

Lots of woo hoos to Elliott on walking (and he made it before his 1st birthday Keely, so boo hiss to all those people that kept asking you!)

Rose, I had a completely uncomplicated pregnancy, labour and birth (except them not believing me when I said it was getting too painful to cope and they told me I was only a few cms dilated...then one hour later she was here!) so I'm not qualified to comment, but just wanted to send hugs to you. You did so well keeping Rose safe for the time she was inside you, and both you and her have done remarkably well since she was born, as have MM and Dylan and Elle and Rhys.

Glam - those pics of Jack are totally gorgeous and I'm loving the socks.

I'm told it's either late 2009 or early 2010 - they'll let me know, and then I'll let you all know ;)

It's a one-off documentary for BBC3 about different attitudes to pregnancy related to women's ages. I'm "middle-aged first time mom who didn't think she'd have kids", which then changed into "middle-aged first time mom with pregnancy problems" when Andrew's premature delivery became apparent :rotfl:

I'm having an issue right now with the sling giving me blocked ducts in my right boob if I wear it for over 4 hours - now Lilia is heavier it's obviously pressing somewhere but I can;t work out where and it's so annoying! I can clear it within a few feeds but I do fear mastitis if I can;t one day.

I can;t work out how to BF while wearing her though - just can;t see how I'd get her in the right position.

Hmmm, possibly a little tight or digging in on your right? Could she be leaning or squidging on that side? Have you got a sling meet nearby, they'll be able to have a look and hopefully shed some light on it?

I can't bf in a wrap :o basically you loosen it and drop her down to the right position but I couldn't work out how! Or you can use the cradle hold.

But I only really got the idea when I got a mei tai!

I've heard good things about kari mes btw :-)

skinty i would make sure you give the calpol as directed so that its regular and has effect, i was also advised to give it half an hour before injections as it would have taken effect. most of the time babies get sleepy after their jags so fingers crossed! As for the 2 hourly feeding its only been the past few weeks that we are getting a good sleep, we are only up once during the night now!

well done Elliot on the walking!

thanks for the congrats i was told on saturday that things were going to start looking up for me and since i was told that they have! fingers crossed on the house now!
What's for you won't go past you
  • I'll look out for that then Tigs :D

Oh Choppy, I'll reply to your earlier post... Would be great to see you Friday but if you can't make it we can arrange another day :)

Fritha, I can feed in my baby hawk too... When Caitlyn was going through her awkward feeding stage (I think we're out of that now, thankfully!) I could fool her into having a feed when she went to sleep in the sling!

I do have a slingmeet but I've not made it over there yet. Must do that when we get back off hols. Can;t see where she;d be squidging me as it's only her feet on that side but perhaps the boobs is squashed by the wrap and I don;t notice.

  • Skinty - when Izzy reacted badly to her jabs I resorted to a long drive in the coutryside. She always wakes up on the way back in, but once she has been asleep it is much easier to get her back off IYSWIM.

Glaz - what a hansome chap you have there :)

Caz - congratulations on the job!

Keely - well done Elliot! I gave him a little round of applause from the sofa here :T:T.

Not getting on very well with the expressing at the mo. Really hoping she picks back up with the feeding properly soon, as i'm not confident there will be much there for her when she does otherwise. I know she does a better job of it than the pump, but the last go I didn't even manage 25 mil. I only pumped 3 times today (that is how often a day she normally feeds), but I think I will have to do it more often tomorrow.

It was harder to get her to sleep tonight too - lots of tears from us both. Far too tired today, so got a bit upset that I can't help her feel better. Poor girl took my nipple in her mouth a few times, but didn't want to suck - I guess she knows/thinks it will hurt? :(
