I have a brand new Tommee Tippee Nuby bottle if anyone would like it via fairy post. It won't fit in my Avent steriliser, so I've never used it. It's similar to these.

ETA...I mentioned the other day that I received a Nuby bottle from BizzieBaby. Just in case anyone is wondering, it's not the same bottle. The BB one is like this.

I use a KAri Me. I do have a ring sling as well (SLingEasy) but it was a gift and I don;t like it that much.

I'm having an issue right now with the sling giving me blocked ducts in my right boob if I wear it for over 4 hours - now Lilia is heavier it's obviously pressing somewhere but I can;t work out where and it's so annoying! I can clear it within a few feeds but I do fear mastitis if I can;t one day.

I can;t work out how to BF while wearing her though - just can;t see how I'd get her in the right position.
I've got the same sling and by the time I was good enough at BF and using the sling, Alice was feeding on both sides at every feed and it wasn't worth the effort of retying the sling when swapping sides.

She has been complaining of a sore throat for the last couple of days, and tonight she said her tummy was sore, so I gave her some calpol and put her to bed at 8pm. She has been up 3 times now thinking she is going to vomit, but hasnt. She is really pale, but doesnt have a temp !!
See, its not just babies that you feel sorry for all the time, Jas is old enough to tell me how she feels, and I still feel useless !!

  • Ladybird, have you tried anbesol for her gums? Did the Dr suggest whether her throat / tonsils are inflamed?

Maybe expressing a little more often while she's not feeding might be a good idea to keep your supply up... Is she taking the milk that you're expressing? Have you tried feeding her lying in a darkened room? Or while she's asleep?

Sorry loads of questions... Feel free to tell me where to go lol..

Doctor wasn't concerned about her not feeding at all, although tbh this doctor is rubbish (he is the reason I normally ask to see a lady doctor even when I don't need to!). She is eating and drinking fine, so I assume not a sore throat, but I could be wrong. She has been drinking milk fine if I time it right. She won't drink it when she is really tired, so I have to get it in early enough!

I've tried lying down, but it's not welcomed either. Never mind, will just keep trying and hopefuly she will want to try again soon :)

  • WIth the sore throat thing, I was just thinking that when I had tonsilitus, it used to hurt my soft palate a lot more than the back of my throat... The action of breastfeeding means the soft palate is used a lot more than just swallowing a mouthfull of food IYSWIM... Do you have breastfeeding support local to you? How is your health visitor?

I'm sure if you keep trying in a calm and quiet manner she'll get back to it... Try not to get stressed over it, or if you do, try not to show it ;)

Yay for permanent jobs, the end of constipation, walking babes, skin to skin, successful SCBU departures, baby pictures and giant socks on little legs.

Booo to sad babies, sore injections, lack of sleep and negative emotions.

    Awwww for this:
