Thanks MM. Im glad to know how you both feel. I need to start dealing with how i feel x
Angela, is there any type of counselling service at your hospital? We have something called "Afterthoughts" where you can go in to talk to a midwife or doctor about your birth experience and then they can refer you on if you want to talk to a counsellor about it..
Has anyone heard from fairydawn or nessquic80? They also have SCBU babies.. just wondered how they (Oscar and Zac) are doing..0 -

Thanks - I can't take my eyes off him. I'm always staring at him - he's waking up now so will be wanting a feed.
He's been feeding weird today - I think when I do my next lot of bottles I might go up from 90ml to 120ml to see if he just wants moreA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Hi all
As usual I am coming on with questions rather than chatting but I'm sure you understand how short time is when they are so young.
Lilia is 7+5 today and has her first injections. SHe was OK with teh jabs - cried a lot but calmed down and I fed her to help her feel better (although she brough it all back up cos she wasn;t atually hungry!) but now she is veryupset and keeps crying.
She is overtired now, too, as we can;t get her off. I gave her Calpol at 6.45pm and she cheered up a bit but now, unless she is on the breast, she is cryingOH is holding her right now and has managed to get her to stop crying by singing to her.
My question is - how long will this last, and are there any hints and tips in helping her feel better and get to sleep? I know vax can make then feel totally rubbish but is there something we can do? DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Aww Skinty good luck
very upsetting when they're just so miserable. I'm afraid I've got no useful advice - sometimes they just can't handle whatever is upsetting them and they need comforting "all night" with breaks... I think Calpol and being there is about all you can offer. If co-sleeping is an option it might help... also might not... it might be a long night
fingers crossed for you.

She'll probably be right as rain after a good sleep skinty... Does taking her for a walk in the pram get her off to sleep usually? Caitlyn tends to drop off with motion but wakes when it stops... But she then is usually a lot calmer and more likely to sleep again without getting over tired...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

So, here's some chat for you while OH dances round the room.
Lilia was 6lb 3oz when born, and in the last few weeks has put 11oz on a week and is now a whopping 9lbs 13oz! The health visitor says I must make gold top in my boobs :rotfl:
She is still small to look at but definitely heavy and doing so well. When I think how close Ic ame to giving up BFing I'm so proud that I didn;t and that she is doing so well on it.
She still feeds every 2 hours at night at least, but I now do it lying down as she has stopped staying on sucking all night, so I know she will come off even if I fall asleep.
She still wont; go in teh crib or pram but I'm finding cosleeping easier now she is bigger and heavier (less roll together) and I like using the sling cos she sleeps in it and people think it is so cute I'm almost a local celebrity now! (The crazy sling lady lol).
I have pix but not on my comp so can;t post any but she is soooo beautiful and cute. She started smiling two weeks ago and it's adorable. She still struggles with tummy time but does have head control, just not when on her tummy!
I so hope I can come on here properly to chat at some point - we are off to Italy on Monday for a week with her so won;t be around next week but am hoping by 12 weeks she will be able to be put down more so I can do stuff.
Oh yeah - we went to London last week to get her passport and I felt sp brave! Never had so many Londoners talk to me - everyone thinks she is so cute in teh sling, like a Flower Fairy:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Slinty, I dont think there is. Give her calpol as you have and be prepared for a rough night. She should be fine in the morning xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
I think after the youngest newborn stage, the rule is to do what they want, unless they are scarily losing weight over a period. It sounds fine
Thanks Bruno. I haven't had her weighed for a couple of weeks, but judging by my aching arms, I don't think there is any chance of her losing weight at the momentKrystaltips wrote: »Sorry Choppy, for some reason I thought you knew about Friday... We kind of arranged it last time you asked if you could join us as you weren't too far away... I'm sure we'll meet up again.... I'm supposed to be meeting my friend on Friday but will check with her tomorrow to see if she's still up for it. If not, I'll come up and join you all.
