I've got some good news, about an hour ago I was stood hugging my husband-we both looked down at Elliot who was standing by his toy box, he then let go and took 3 steps all by himself!! :D

*proud mom moment* lets hope he does it again!!

Angela, I can't look at pics of DS2 in his incubator. Doesn't help that the ones we do have, MIL took before I had seen him. Feels like the pictures were stolen somehow. The baby in those pics have nothing to do with me at all.

ETA read back and it's funny tgat MM and Elle feel the same. I am proud of course but can't think of any of my babies being the same ones with wires. Even with Amber who was only in SC for a week I still think of her as Eyore in that week, not Amber.

I am proud but find it hard to explain. I hadnt told anyone how i felt tll the other day, when i told my mum that i felt as tho i hadnt been able to keep her safe and i blamed myself. She said so that should mean i'd take the credit for the fact she'd done so well since. She just couldnt understand, but explaining it on here, i think all of you who have been in that situation have explained it exactly as i felt x

100g-ish of butter use a healthy marg, two tablespoons of golden syrup cant find anything healthy for this lol , two tablespoons of cocoa use skinny cow instead of cadburys (or cadbury's hot choc powder if you're me!), and broken up chocolate use dark chocolate better for you, all in a pan, on the hob, melted until smooth.

Broken up digestives you can get half fat biccies , marshmallows dont use as many or dont use and throw in loads and loads of dried fruit (maybe some cashew nuts), raisins, anything else you find in the cupboard.. throw them in the pan when the choc is melted, stir together.

Put in a tin (baking, roasting, cake - whatever!), lined with cling film, and put in the fridge and try to forget about it for a couple of hours.. Turn out, chop up, make cuppa and scoff :D

    Simple? :D

ok this was my best atempt to make it somewhat healthy ... its gotta knock off a few calories :D x

Proud that he's come so far and, in a way, like it happened to someone else. The times I've been back to the unit I've felt very odd - like it's the first time I've been there - so I think I've somehow shut it all out. But then that's the same with other previously bad events in my life - I just box them off, so maybe that's my way of dealing with things. If I think about it too deeply the guilt (of not carrying him safely and of daring to comtemplate a DNR decision) takes over and I can't handle that, day-to-day.

I was just sat looking through the pics then looking over at Rhys sat in his bouncy chair and I'm just proud, not upset

Thanks for that Elle. Maybe in time i can do that. You have good right to be proud too x
Angela, I look at them sometimes like is not my baby, but incredibly happy to know that he came through a lot in a very short period of time :) I think like elle, I can see them, but not really believe it all happened.

Thanks MM. Im glad to know how you both feel. I need to start dealing with how i feel x
