  • Well this afternoon was interesting... There's a newborn group 1-3 at our childrens centre... I went once before the summer holidays but I wasn't very comfortable, it was a bit cliquey and nobody really spoke to me... So I was unsure about going again, plus Caitlyn was asleep so I thought I probably wouldn't go... Then Caitlyn woke up and I thought I should just force myself to go... So I did! It was really good, a few less people there and 1 of the teachers from Aimee's school who had her baby a few weeks after me... Everyone was talking to everyone else and I got a lovely cup of tea (although the cup was chipped and I don't like that!) And while we were there the leader was telling us all about the different things that are on... I am now signed up for a child behaviour class on 3-8yo's, cake decorating, christmas cake decotating, card making, and a pamper day with hair and make up and foot massage... I'm sure there was more but I forget now... All free and with a free creche! (They also do keep fit on a Thursday 2 till 3, but I'm not sure I have the nerve for that just yet lol)

Elle, I'll have a tea no sugar while you have the kettle on... TY :D
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Sling meet ladies look here, I've organised the next one but have no proper venue yet (I'm working on it) so I'm proposing we take over an ice cream cafe *beam* (So you can spend your £2 on ice cream ;))

Thanks - I got your PM so ignore mine back now I've seen this

I've booked to get Jack registered on Monday (but can't remember what time am sure it is 2pm!) but as OH needs to come (we live in sin ;)) I might change the time of it.

He's a bit grisly today and I don't like it. He's whimpering in his sleep and seems really restless - I had a shower earlier so bought him up for naked cuddles and ended up falling asleep with him on my chest for 2 hours. He was relaxed enough then - I'm thinking he's had too many cuddles this weekend!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

Or you could go straight from slinging since it's down the road? Mr Glam is more than welcome to join us if he's feeling particularly brave (bless him, many women with many babies! Himself is off work next week so I'm going to invite him too, I suspect he'll look terrified and say no!)

they dont resusitate if they're born before 24 weeks gestation, even if its 23+6   that is SO wrong, SO SO SO wrong - i heard of babies that had lived for a couple of hours but the doctors wouldnt help!! those poor babies and parents. how terrible.

    I completely agree emlou :(

sending out smushy poop vibes to fergie!! come on lil fella, even some rabbit drops would be good!!!
It worked! 9 days of lactulose seemed to leave a much smoother experience for lil fergie :)

That is terrible. I'm sure I've heard of babies (probably in the US) who have survived having been born at 23 weeks. Without wishing to be too controversial, I imagine it's probably to do with the fact that the abortion limit is 24 weeks. Also, up to 24 weeks, if you lose a baby it is classed as a miscarriage rather than a still birth and you don't get any maternity entitlement.

I understand this is also the reason that the ridiculously badly thought through HipG is paid after 25 weeks. If they give it to women at the time when their diet is primarily affecting the health of the baby (first trimester) then they are acknowledging the foetus as a person, which then makes a mockery of these other decisions.

angela, so sorry about the traumatic time you had with rose. I hope you have all the support you need in talking it through and feeling ok. But also please do tell us more about it? There's evidence that story-telling acts in place of dream processing of traumatic events in new mums (who have less time to dream!). Birth story tellers are less likely to get depressed after a traumatic birth.

Weezl I was just playing with Els squeaky spider and thought how easy it would be for you to make, she loves it and always giggles when we play with it.
I've put some pics on my FB just for you, so hopefully you can see them. The squeaker is in the palm of the glove. I can explain more if you fancy making one.

Thank you :A it is so kind of you to think of me :) I like them a lot :D

Righty, cuppa had, bottle had, necessary change of clothes sorted  Who'd have thought that a pair of trousers finally looks too short on Rhys! ;):D

Physios were well impressed with Rhys :D There's nothing he's not doing that he should be (for his gestational age). They were full of praise for me but, again, I don't know what I've been doing :o Just need to carry on with it and plenty of tummy time, they said. They saw him rolling too, which was good, and he held a rattle for them which is something we've never tried (*makes note to buy one* :o).

ETA: Tia, they said his head shape is perfect too. The nurse was asking me earlier, having seen Rhys lying on his change mat, watching tv (bad mummy!), if I turned him round occasionally so he was watching tv from the other side.. hmm, not quite sure that's a good thing! :o

Daddy still staying late at work tonight so going to attempt to tidy the kitchen now - only cos I need to wash the pan I want to use to make RR! :rotfl: Best have another cuppa to motivate me...
