You think getting him done will sort it? The litterbox wasn't even dirty! I just cleaned it before bed last night and there was only 1 wee in it, so I don't think that was the problem, maybe I should put another tray down?

I'm just scared to go out and come back to pee and poo everywhere. I'll go phone the vets now and see what they say....

My old cat had *issues* when my eldest was born and took to peeing in awkward places - mostly my bed or the nursery carpet. We had many investigations and trips to the vet, but it was never resolved beyond her being a bad-tempered moggy. Sorry. Here's hoping a trip to the vets to remove his offending articles works for you.

I use the Bridge vets, on Ellon road. It's just a 5minute walk from my house you see :)

Well that's the 1st time he has ever peed or pooed anywhere but his litterbox, the older cat used to crap in my tumble dryer whenever she got a chance.....

I'm hoping it's because he's marking his territory or maybe the other cat was in the litterbox at the time....I've put a tray down too, they just better keep using the covered box because I don't like the smell.

Mind you, his wee HONKS, because of his hormones, can't wait until I can stop putting a peg on my nose to clean up his wee (honest it's rank!)
  • our cat peed everywhere. was a right PITA cos once they go somewhere they do go back and back to the same place. the peeps on a thread about this said to wash the whole area where cat has peed with a solution of bio-washing powder/liquid and leave it to dry.
it has worked for us and said cat is now peeing in his tray. but is on last chance with DH. thankfully he (the cat) has got the message and is being as good as gold lately

Oh wait I remember the older cat pee'd on Keira's bedroom floor and the utility floor when she was in heat. So maybe he's came into season and that's why?

Well see Jillie, OH doesn't really like my cats and he went off his head when we had to rip up a carpet because of the cat stink from the older cat (managed to get the stink out of Keira's floor as it was fresher, eugh!) so I daren't tell him about today because he'll want me to get rid of the kitten, whilst I do dislike that kitten at the moment, I'd not want to give him up, I think it's cruel to do it but I can see why people do it when the cat is pee'ing in every corner of the house, it's disgusting and unsanitary!

    Fingers crossed your cat behaves!

That is terrible. I'm sure I've heard of babies (probably in the US) who have survived having been born at 23 weeks. Without wishing to be too controversial, I imagine it's probably to do with the fact that the abortion limit is 24 weeks. Also, up to 24 weeks, if you lose a baby it is classed as a miscarriage rather than a still birth and you don't get any maternity entitlement.
It could possibly change tho, I'm sure it used to be the case that they wouldn't re-sus a 24weeker (IIRC it used to be 26wks) but some lovely doctors ignored the rule and so many survived the general rule was changed

I think 24week abortion limit is way too long (unless there is a medical reason or at least a genuine reason why it shouldn't be continued with)

I've heard of people getting a sex scan at 20weeks, then finding out it's not what they wanted and then getting an abortion. It's terrible.

buttons you really should try pura cat litter, we dont get a smell of cat wee now only poop when he first does it, and if you cant clean it straight away it absorbs the poop smell as well. when we go out we never come back to a smelly tray, when we used cheap stuff we used to walk in the door and nearly die! we've used the pura moonlight which is the expensive stuff, £15-16 a big bag, but now we use the pura clever cat which is a smaller bag for £7something, works out cheaper than the big bag and is exactly the same from what i can work out, except its a stronger rose perfume. the £7ish bag lasts us over a month cos it clumps so well you dont need to empty the tray completely at all, but i do it once a month anyway cos i always think i should, if i didnt it would last pretty much forever!

susan what risotto recipes do you use? i love risotta but OH doesnt think he likes it, i want to try him with a couple of recipes of it just to make sure! i'm sure if i gave him a slab of meat with it he would like it
