What kind of meals are staples in you lots houses anyways if you don't mind? I read the OS board for inspiration but sometimes I don't know what half the food is and when someone writes something like chicken pasta bake.....I don't know what's in it beside chicken and pasta - me = clueless!
    1. Pasta - with some kinda sauce (usually Jamie Oliver fiery one!! ,mmm, tastes so good!)
    2. Chicken -lotsa different forms - made into goujons, stuffed with cheese and bacon rolled around, threw into a curry, with some sauce poured over then into pitta breads/baguettes
    3. Gammon steaks - with pineapple and cheese melted, served with champ and sweetcorn (one of my favourites!!)
    4. Stirfrys with noodles
    5. Some type of fish with baby boils/salad
got a mind blank now. When winter comes in we also eat a lot of soup and stew!!

I make a good chicken and broccoli bake (might allow Keira another veg!!?) -- simple as ABC aswell.
simply cook chicken (it eats better if its diced - either before or after cooking)
cut broccoli into bitesize pieces. stir chicken and broccoli into a tin of *Condensed* chicken soup (it has to be condensed, or else its too watery.
put into a bakig dish, top with Cheese &Onion Crisps, and bake in oven for about 30mins in oven at abut 180 until inside is piping hot and crisps are nicely toasted!!! :D
Cranberry and White choc muffins in the oven anybody for tea and a muffin when there ready;)

    My dad loves costco buffet....

mmmm...yes please!!! i was meant to do some cookies or muffins today, but OHs friends came over to see Katie, so im approx 2 hours behind my schedule!!! bum

Rhys has been really good and been lying on a blanket on the floor for an hour [STRIKE]watching X-Factor[/STRIKE] playing with his toy arch, while I've been tidying the kitchen and outting some washing on. Just giving him a cuddle now while he falls asleep then I can go clean the bathroom and fill up the new units I bought :)

Hmm.. strike that, the cheeky tyke has just worked my top down by nudging it with his head and latched on to me - blooming cheek!

Anyway, OH is in the garden annoying the neighbours with a bonfire..

Our staple meals, I usually cook enough for 2 meals and freeze half... Cottage pie, pasta in bolognaise sauce, pasta with bacon and cheese sauce (my fave!) Scouse (cooked on the hob) or beef stew (cooked in the slow cooker) If we have a chicken on a sunday we'll have a home made chicken and mushroom pie with suet lid on a monday... Or chicken and bacon fried rice... That's probably about all we have lol... Hubby won't eat anything that might be spicy... I'm doing fajitas this week in an attempt to show him tht things with spice in don't have to blow your head off...

I bought the 1 dough 50 cookies book and haven't done anything out of it yet! Need to do something with the kitchen first... Also got the BBC good food 1 pan recipe book that I've not done anything with too... Still trying to empty the freezer... Nearly there though I think... It will definitely be defrosted this week! Then I will have to batch cook 2 bags mince lamb and 1 bag mince beef and 2 bags quorn... Going to make as many pasta sauces and shepherd pie bases as I can...

ETA, Weezl, the only problem I have is that my fairies don't drive... And my Mum is out of the country so can't cadge a lift off her... They do live ridiculously close to M6 J10 and could maybe offer refreshments and a toilet stop?

All embarrassed now... I don't really follow a recipe or anything... I cook the rice in one pan and fry up the bacon and chicken and an onion and sometimes some lazy garlic... When the rice is cooked, I chuck the stuff out of the frying pan in with it and mix it up, then I whisk up a couple of eggs with a slug of soy or worcestershire sauce and put half the rice back in the pan, make a hole in the middle of the rice and pour the egg in then just kind of fold it into the rice until its all cooked... Then I whisk up another couple of eggs and do the same with the other half... It find its better to do it in two halves, otherwise the pan gets overloaded and the egg doesn't cook properly...

  • I just use long grain easy cook white rice... Used to use brown rice for everything but found it took too long cooking and too much chewing...

Leila just grabs my top and yanks it down. Then with her little pincer fingers with her tiny jagged nails she pinches the delicate skin on my booby whilst feeding. IT HURTS!
