we eat lots of spag bol, chilli, chicken breasts made up as curry, grilled, casseroles. have started bulking out mince dishes with lentils and porridge oats as per the OS board (i thought it was mental before i did it, now i think its genius!!)
have started eating lots more fresh potato than chips etc, can recommend the asda smart price spuds, 84p for a huge bag! we ate from it every day for a week before it ran out, and OH eats a LOT. cut them up into about 6 pieces, put them in a food bag, drizzle with oil and chilli powder and bake, hey presto, cheap healthy potato wedges! we also eat gammon steaks and pork steaks too. we used to live off frozen boxed food, like birds eye crispy chicken and chips etc, pizza, garlic baguettes, but i'm really really proud of the fact that we havent had anything like that for a good 2 weeks now
something i do do though, is buy a bag of 8 part baked rolls from aldi, cut them in half, butter them and stick garlic and herbs on to make DIY garlic bread, cos OH cant live without his garlic bread!! its cheaper, healthier cos its smaller and quick and easy to do.
£80 has fed us for two weeks now and we still have a freezer full of food to eat :j
ETA: OH is fussy and wont eat anything cheese saucy or that doesnt have meat in  so i bulk cook things like cheesy pasta sauce and herby tomato sauce for me to eat and then freeze them so if theres nothing "in" i can shove him a chicken breast and some pasta and he eats a bland boring meal while i eat a tasty oneone day he might develop a less fussy taste  we always have chicken in the freezer, we buy the asda bag of smart price frozen chicken, £3something for 1kg, its fine once its cooked

I read the OS board for inspiration but sometimes I don't know what half the food is and when someone writes something like chicken pasta bake.....I don't know what's in it beside chicken and pasta - me = clueless!0

my "savings" of £500 have been rinsed now, and thats purely down to food shopping since i've been on ML!! i've been so careful with money since ML started, i even only have 2 pairs of trousers  while OH spends a fiver a day on prepacked lunches
i've made it VERY clear that i will not be spending all my money on food any more and i've started telling him i need X amount to go and get X with, and he's actually starting to see the cost of things now. we went to asda for loo roll yesterday and he was stood in the aisle working out the price per loo roll!!! :T:T:T

.. philip doesnt actually have any money coming inthe house from him so he never lets me spend money on him unless its a birthday or xmas .... i bought a second freezer off ebay for £15 i had to as my freezer is poo .. im desperately trying to get out of debt so im cutting down on luxuries (only on me and philip kids still get theres but just not as many) so what ever i save gets either thrown at my debts or xmas for the kids x
